Nice work, Koen, esp. Willie n' Keith. Real nice. thumbs up I could listen to a whole album of them doing songs like that with acoustics, trading licks.

I take you are referring the the time since I registered here as Stones62 which has absolutely no bearing on the topic at hand or anything else I can think of. I joined this board in the hope to have friendly discussions about music in general and the Stones in particular. Is this why you are here, or do you have another reason?

Thanks for the welcome Max. I take it then friendly and intelligent discussion is not your reason for being here. Sorry you feel the need to be rude.

Max, I'm flattered that you have taken the time to count my posts but I've been here longer than you think. However, as I mentioned before, the length of time a person has been here has no bearing on this or any other matter. You speak of trolls, but who is the troll here? The one who attempts to engage in friendly and relevant discussions or the one who seems to consistently indulge in rude, obnoxious and derisive commentary? I've tried to be friendly but I feel my efforts are being wasted. So be it. I can waste no more time with you. Take it easy guy...

Is it only me who feel insulted on behalf of all IORR readers by certain moron of a poster, insulting everybody who sees him as he is? Making this board stupifying and a drag to read.

You have been here only 11 days, you only have 15 posts (mostly on 2 threads) and you are judging me? you accuse me of being rude? LMAO... uh okey dokey.

why, oh why, do I fall for troll bait? Hey that could be a country song.
Hey Max. I'm sure you know I'm no troll. But how about just lightening up in general. That would go a long way towards making a lot of people happy and this board a little more mellower.TIA.smileys with beer

I thought I was easy going. I only go back at someone when they start bashing on the Stones or coming after me. Seem odd people feel free to be rude, and think someone will just accept that.

As far as this thread, I stated my opinion about country music, I have seen people post a lot stronger opinions than that.

Merle — Gram — Keith way kool! I also like Flying Burrito Bros. version with Gram and Chris Hillman. Can only speculate Gram turned Keith onto Merle.

Well...I don't listen to very much country music because my experiences with it have been more bad than good. Hear me out here...

I don't mind twang. (If you could hear me talk you'd understand) But since I have such a dire hate for commercially driven crap (any type of music) that is made up of virtually the same background noise (not really music) and a hook that would better be served as a bumpersticker than made into radio drivel. All wrapped up in the american flag (jingoism for advertising). I kinda get burnt up.

I've actually been thinking about this alot lately. I'm so glad "rock" artists have covered great country songs like "Jolene" by Dolly Parton or "Folsom Prison Blues" sung by Johnny Cash. And I want to hear more but everyone I know that listens to country listens to crap! So I've been letting what I hear filter through "rock" before I waste my time (and I do feel sadly musically poorer for it). Same goes for much blues.

sad smiley

Well at least I know he sucks and so does his puppet kid.

Does anyone else think it's weird for a grown man to write songs for a teen girl and her audience. My neice was trying to convince me a few years ago about Miley's merits and I commented about how the song she was playing sounded like "I wear my sunglasses at night". She immediately lights up a yells "Oh! You've heard that song too!" So I say "Sure it came out in the eighties." Then she starts singing another tune to THOSE lyrics and said it was also on Miley's albumn! Two rip offs in one. Lyrics on one song and melody on another!

p.s. I wikipediad her to see how old she is and found out her real name is Destiny Hope Cyrus.

p.s.s. My neice now listens to "Black Veil Brides" which has now prejudiced me from ever listening to them too.

Yeah, you've gotten my point. It's my biggest problem with a lot of music. I just have listened to so much crap it's hard to give something new a try. I'll listen to the above when I get back.

thanks.

As Auden said, there is good and bad and in all genres of music. I just came across this version of Stones covering 'You Win Again' that I had never heard before, written of course by the venerable Hank Williams.

LOL, another short timer trolling, and kind of late to do it... so funny.
Where you been troll? this all happened days ago, I was gone from this thread.

That is pretty funny coming from one the biggest troll on this board. Lets take a look at your typical post; it is you chiming in, out of the blue, with some stupid one liner drivel adding nothing but trying to cause trouble, for example.

It is not an elitist thing,
it is a "you created another profile so you can troll" thing.

Right or wrong, troll or positive, I respect long term profiles because they did not just create a new profile to post drivel exactly the type of spaz fest you just posted.

Short timers who appear to be trolls are best avoided.

oh my god, i got called out! now YOU are a troll, Max'sKansasCity!
you remind me of Senator McCarthy. you see trolls everywhere!

let us look into the definition of a troll, shall we.
Troll: In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

hmm... there doesn't seem to be much trolling in those examples you gave.
Max'sKansasCity, how old are you? oh wait. i shouldn't ask that delicate question because i'm a troll!!
grow some balls. if you get called out by someone, that person is not a troll. if someone who has been on this site for a short time confronts you and calls you out, they are not a troll. quit your paranoid thinking. quit being so sensitive.
