This is cool. Brad Paisley has recently worked with members of my two favorite bands, The Rolling Stones and Alabama. Now if he could just put the two together.

That's what I'm talkin' about Lien! Nice work!

Maybe we'll start turning some people on to the genre that influences Keith's and Ronnie's guitar playing so much. cool smiley

Brad Paisley is just like the biggest country star today. Not crazy about Alcohol but his lead is smokin' and Good Times Roll is way cool. Ronnie sounds better than he has in years.

Well you must hate a lot of Stones music too then. They've been country on & off since the Everly Brothers-inspired harmonies of It's All Over Now.

ain't it strange that Ronnie so much better when he plays with people who are not members of the Stones…?

My thought is that there is some type of agreement between Ronnie and Keith... "Ronnie, you can only play half as good as Keith, and you can't be louder than HALF of Keith's volume at concerts."

I could be wrong, but thats how it felt for quite a few gigs over the years. Always love it when they are 50/50 and dueling at full power!

Good to see him playing and playing well again, no matter with whom or what the musical genre. Ron Wood has been of of favorite guitarists since I first heard 'Had me a Real Good Time' thundering through my older brother's bedroom wall. As to country music, there's good and there's bad as is the case with every type of music. I've always liked the Stones take on country. 'Dead Flowers', Country Honk, 'Dear Doctor' and 'Far Away Eyes' are great country songs in their own right. And as everyone here knows, Graham Parsons, who carried the torch of traditional country music until his death, had a profound influence on Keith.

with all due respect, BS.

"A LOT" is the wrong word. They have a couple of cuntry songs, but it is more tongue in cheek..... after all it is a Brit singing twangy to the point of making fun of it.... cuntry honk, far away eyes... ummmm... that is all I can recall... but I tend to block that crap out.

"Torn and Frayed" "Let It Bleed" "Dead Flowers"...crap. Got it.

Without country music there would be no rock and roll and hence no Stones, at least as we know them.

Since the '81-'82 tours I would have to agree. It seems he has not been 'allowed' to stretch out and really play as he had done on tours during and previous to the aforementioned. I'm not sure how this state of affairs came to be but a guitarist of his caliber needs to be allowed to just play!

in that case nobody will be able to hear Ronnie on the next Stones tour (if another tour is going to happen) - half as good as Keith will result in Ronnie standing on stage doing nothing but smoking...

Absolutely. Hank Williams was as important musically as Muddy Waters, perhaps more so.

post ONE QUOTE/ARTICLE/SOURCE for this country influence BS.
Post ONE quote from any of the Stones where they state Hank Williams as an influence.

I didn't mention The Stones, I was talking about his influence on rock & roll. Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Fats Domino & even Little Richard have cited him as an influence.

Not quite as lame as your childish spelling. I think we get the point now...

Max, it's the constant stream of negativity and profanity that turns people off.

Obviously, you have good friends here that tolerate your derision. But ya gotta know the cumulative effect sucks, and really I'm amazed that an erudite message board lets a poster get away with "mental issues" blasts, profanity, referring to former 1st lady HC as a c, etc.

Definitely sours my experience here, so if that is your goal, success.
