I'm glad that Rooster mentioned the fact that Mick donates a TON of money to an assortment of causes and charities, including his old school, Dartford Academy. I'm not sure he can be considered a conservative, he DID write " Sweet Neocon"...sounds pretty liberal to me...didn't he want to perform that song In Washington, D.C when Bush was prez?

Jagger pretends to be a liberal radical because it is politically correct and gets him favorable media coverage. In his personal life he is as conservative as all get out.

And I never heard of Jagger being a generous philanthropist. No way, Jose.

They are in in it for the $$$ and always have been.

That's just nonsense......he said and I heard it............

Quote Mick Jagger....."My money is Conservative but my heart is Labour"..(English Labour party).

In other words he sees that the Labour party (well used to anyway) act more sympathectically towards the general populace (which he likes) but at the same time he knows that once they get their hands on his money he gets skinned alive in terms of heavy duty taxation. (which he doesn't like)....and who would..........

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> They are in in it for the $$$ and always have been <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Yeah you're right there....eye rolling smiley......I've never seen these people have FUN on stage....Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..................

I met a woman and she told me...."well baby...... well the blues ain't bad"...........

Jagger hangs out with Democrats all of the time, including Bill Clinton. I can't see Jagger even talking to a conservative . . and they really don't exist in the Jet Set Celebrity world that he deals with.

He may be conservative with all his money and family life, but that is where it ends.

I do think John Lennon was conservative, because Lennon was actually quite a deep thinker. The guy was not only a musical genius but an intellectually oriented man.

Jagger is the opposite . . what you see is what you get.

Thank God for MicksChix to keep things in perspective. Personally, I don't like preparing my eggs myself.

Doubt this book will ever happen.

Wasn't the first time Mrs. Jagger had met Bianca, believe that was at the wedding.

Lovely to return to this happening little world. Am sick to death of those blankety blank Republicans in the US Congress.

Mick Jagger isn't intellectual? Yeah of all the criticisms labelled at him lack of intellectual capability isn't one of them. He's a voracious reader (on tour he travels with a trunk or two of books) and is by all accounts very smart. I'm sure John Lennon was too but also aside from the claim made by the former employee who stole from him and Yoko, there is no indication John Lennon held many (or any) conservative views.

He probably does now but during the 2002/2003 tour he was still lugging all of those books around. Or his "people" were.

I thought I read, Gazza, that Mick wanted to perform that song but Keith and the others thought it might get a bit sticky so they didn't do it?? And as far as Mick not being intellectual or a thinker, that's RUBBISH!! He's extremely bright, very well-read, loves art, many types of music other than rock & blues, studies history, loves architechture and travels all over the world exploring different cultures. He's even a bit of a bird-watcher, and not the human bird! If you've ever heard a lengthy interview with him, you'd see that he has a curious mind, always learning. Well, I guess I beat that dead horse, didn't I??

Mick Jagger is quite smart. He isn't an intellectual, and never pretended to be.

John Lennon had so many provocative, interesting things to say about the world, he was in a class by himself.

All that means is that he votes Labour, but refuses to pay really high taxes or contribute lots of money to charities. That's his privilege.

Lennon was nothing but Naive. I can't believe anyone fell for his act. Here is a Guy who impressed some people by lying in bed for Peace. Please. Did you see the talk show where him and his beautiful wife was trying to start a movement claiming that the gov't had no right to put anyone in jail no matter what.Thats idiot talking. He was an idiot with too much time on his hands and for some reason people think he was an intellectual.

I will take Jagger's intellect over Lennon's any day of the week. Lennon just talked crap.

Michael Philip Jagger could be considered as the most anti-conformist amongst the Tories and the most conservative amongst the Whigs (disambiguation: for "Jagger and Wigs" you can stroll around the iorr - board, 30 % of the threads is dedicated to the subject)

Definitely Jagger over Lennon. I can appreciate that Lennon mouthed off,but there was nothing really significant streaming along.....just a famous lost soul who wrote a few really nice songs.
Meanwhile I can almost see Jagger grinning, so much smarter than those trying to hang a conservative tag on him.

Mickschix - Just because he donates a lot of money to charities does not mean he is a liberal most people that donate to charities are rich conservatives. Sweet Neo-Con was a shot at the Bush administration and I am quite conservative but I did not like the Bush administration. I'm sure that Mick realy leans to the left but I don't think he is ultra liberal especially when it comes to money and tax laws.

Mick Jagger interviewed by Jay McInerney in 1985 ESQUIRE: "The British Olympic gymnastics team asked me for some money, and I said, `Well, how much does the whole thing cost?' I think Keith sponsored the judo team."

Well, Slew maybe he's a fence-sitter. I beg to differ on those that donate to charities...if you look at the Hollywood crowd, a great many there that donate to great causes are strictly liberal. I can think of Alex Baldwin, Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks etc. a great many from this crowd were at Obama's inaugural parties and celebrations. They would never be called conservative.

Those are just the people that you hear about. Look up the Summers foundation in Rochester New York those people are arch conservatives and they've put many many people through college that could not afford it. We only see high profile celebrities donating but that is not the case at all its just what the liberal minded media would like you to beleive.

I have on good information that Mick Jagger actually prefers ham and cheese omelettes to soft boiled eggs. I was in a trendy, pricey hotel restaurant and could see what he was eating and not eating.

Anyone who says Jagger prefers soft boiled eggs is a liar.
