Let's compare The Stones with your favourite sports-team

The Rolling Stones = Feyenoord Rotterdam (which is a football-club or for you Americans, a soccer-club)

Glorydays 60's and 70's...but it's all over now

This will be easy! Depending upon your point of view both the Rolling Stones and the Miami Dolphins peaked in 1972. If you've been waiting since 1972 for another Exile, I've been waiting that long for another perfect season - heck, I'll settle for a Super Bowl title. Even though the Dolphins won their last championship in 1973, they are better known for the one they captured in the magical year of 1972!

Er, Manchester City - the richest team/band on the planet. Obviously not proud of our accidental wealth but if it had to happen to someone then why not a decent working class team.

Man. Utd. is playing down the street from where I am right now in Seattle.

Any chance of getting to their tour bus and spraying it sky blue Tele?

As a young kid/teenager I loved the ny yankees as well as the stones...now both have turned into money hungry machines that have little regard for their fans.

I'm grateful my memory of better days are still with me. smiling smiley

I remember reading a review of Love You Live that compared them to the aging heavyweight champion, Muhammad Ali. Like Ali, the article said, the Stones "do just enough" to win the decision and retain their title.

YEESSS! Please Tele71, DESTROY their tour bus! We'll collect and bail you out. I can't stand man "scum" utd. Paint it sky blue!! Man City will hopefully become the best mancunian team for the next 30 years.

Are you sure Jagger is an Arsenal fan?? I'm Arsenal and I thought only John Lydon loved us of all big Rock stars.

Oddly enough, after a golden few years, Arsenal have won nothing since the Stones last toured.

Just sayin'.....

Rolling Stones = New York Yankees: old, slow teams being held hostage by highly regarded and/or beloved has-beens (Richards = A-Rod or, worse yet, Posada).

Montreal Canadiens:

More cups (think hits) than anyone else, ruled the 60's and 70's but only two cups (think hits) since!
