I think that's a Mick impersonator. I don't think it's him.

Maroon 5 has got the rights to use Mick's archive footage
for their Move Like Jagger video, but I think Adam Levine
also tries to imitate Mick or something...but what a sucky song!

There are a few song lately that sing about Mick...Marketing
wise this is good for Mick.

maroon 5 and christina aguilera are huge stars in the current music business.whether or not you like them or their music its still pretty amazing to have them write a song about mick.

words like legend and icon dont even begin to describe what the stones have become.i think we forget that sometimes because we're so close to them.

someone actually said in a post here recently that mick had become a bit of a pathetic charactor and a joke.it really makes me wonder what goes on in some fans minds when i see that sort of thing.
two of the biggest names in music are writing songs about you, believe me,you're residing somewhere in a place way beyond big time.

...I wouldn't mind at all if Mick gave them/they used archived footage....but the "teaser" looks a little cheezy.

not to burst your bubble or anything, but based on the lyrics i wouldn't say this song is necessarily a song ABOUT Mick. i think the writer was merely using Jagger as a simile and as a hook. smiling smiley

Maroon 5 has been doing a version of Beast of Burden for years, and in past inerviews, Levine has mentioned the Stones as an inspiration....so he's a real fan.

I love that Mick is getting some love from current, younger artists, like Kesha and Lady Gaga, who has mentioned him.
Maybe the tide will turn toward a Jagger appreciation....in the last few years his private life has become truly private and his persona more enigmatic, somthing that harkens back to his 60s, 70s heyday...and that's a good thing.
I like the song...its catchy and im also hearing the "Miss You" echoes in the opening whistle thing.....
Hope its gets more airplay.

adam levine told mtv news:"his moves are carefully calculated but slightly spastic.an incrediible rythymic experience in which your limbs and every bone in your body is moving at completely different times, and its impossible to recreate.nobody moves like jagger, thats the whole point"

thanks for not bursting my bubble, einstein.

does these look like lyrics about mick jagger?

Just shoot for the stars
If it feels right
And aim for my heart
If you feel like
Can take me away and make it OK
I swear I'll behave

You wanted control
So we waited
I put on a show
Now we're naked
You say I'm a kid
My ego is big
I don't give a shit
And it goes like this

[Chorus]
Take me by the tongue
And I'll know you
Kiss me 'til you're drunk
And I'll show you

All the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like jagger

I don't need to try to control you
Look into my eyes and I'll own you

You with them moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger

[Verse 2]
Baby it's hard
When it feels like you're broken and scarred
Nothing feels right
But when you're with me
I make you believe
That I've got the key

So get in the car
We can ride it
Wherever you want
Get inside it
And you want to steer
But I'm shifting gear
I'll take it from here
And it goes like this

[Chorus]
Take me by the tongue
And I'll know you
Kiss me 'til you're drunk
And I'll show you

All the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger

I don't need to try to control you
Look into my eyes and I'll own you

With them moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger

[Bridge]
You want to know how to make me smile
Take control, own me just for the night
But if I share my secret
You're gonna have to keep it
Nobody else can see this

So watch and learn
I won't show you twice
Head to toe, ooh baby, rub me right
But if I share my secret
You're gonna have to keep it
Nobody else can see this

And it goes like this

[Chorus]
Take me by the tongue
And I'll know you
Kiss me 'til you're drunk
And I'll show you

All the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger

I don't need to try to control you
Look into my eyes and I'll own you

With them moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger

there's a difference between making a reference to someone in a song and actually sitting down and writing a song ABOUT someone. but hey, if you want to think that this song is about mick jagger, go ahead. knock yourself out.

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has said that Mick Jagger was happy to endorse the band's new single 'Moves Like Jagger'.

Levine collaborated on the track with fellow The Voice judge Christina Aguilera, and recently released a teaser of the song's upcoming music video.

"We were lucky enough to get Mick's endorsement, as far as him giving us access to a bunch of different footage, that's so cool," Levine told MTV News this week.

"Not many people have seen [it], especially a newer generation of people that don't know so much about how incredible he was."

The band tasked Jonas Åkerlund to direct the video, after being impressed by his work on music videos for the likes of Lady GaGa, Britney Spears and David Guetta.

"It's kind of a hodgepodge of many different ideas that we wanted to do, and Jonas Åkerlund is at the helm of this whole thing, and he's so talented and we love working with him," Levine continued. "This is going to be another great video, I think."

As well as including archival footage of the Rolling Stones frontman, the video will also feature a Jagger lookalike.

'Moves Like Jagger' debuted in the Top 10 in the US last month, and will be released in the UK on August 15.
