I'm not so fond of Dave Stewart's all black suit, beard and a fourties style hat look. He's meant to look cool but rather looks a bit on the dorky side.

been listening to a 'rock me gently' and 'i don't mind'... like them both, interesting stuff. also like the little eurhythmics interlude in 'i don't mind'.

just sayin.

Here's a bad review of the album we actually like, because the "author, teacher,
journalist, and music critic" (and dildo), doesn't even realize he's more or less
paraphrasing the lyrics of "hey captain":

"It's like a special music episode of The Love Boat where Captain Stubing steers
the Pacific Princess into an iceberg and the guest stars wake up shipwrecked on
Bad Idea Island, doomed to overcome their differences and cobble together a new
kind of popular music to brighten their lost horizon and perhaps, learn from one another."

p.s. We have no good reason to believe that superheavy is working on their
second studio album as we speak.

NOT a prediction, prophecy, inkling, deduction, rumour, or fact. just a
belief. like Jah. nah mean?

on the shelves before christmas.

(consumer protection info: beliefs are made to be broken)

Superheavy rules!
Cause Mick Jagger rules!
]I enjoy the album!
Jagger shines like a brilliant
and I 'm fond of stuff like Tinariwen, etc
And I would suggest to change the name for the topics like"Superheavy sucks"
on the fanboard. What if Mick Jagger would see it,get angry and say:"you don't respect my work which is part of my soul. Then no more presents for Stones fans"

I like the album, and I think they're gonna get a Grammy. It sounds great to me. Good job, Superheavy people! Very creative.

dave stewart has tweeted, "india here we come", without further explanation.
perhaps his and mick's promotional efforts are shifting there?

dave also tweeted this pic:

1) Although you can find this quote on all sorts of schlocky merchandise and
motivational websites, where its greeting card appeal is obvious, we can't
seem to find it or its source on any legit Buddhism sites.

2) There are two ways to interpret this quote. a) the stupid way, which is the
way the motivational sites and dave we think are using it, that material
success automatically follows from doing what you love. tell you what, we
don't care how much you love shooting heroin or eating french fries, it will
not lead to material success. tell you something else, dave stewart's success
has not come primarily from his love of music, but rather from how smartly he
has gone about it, b) the less stupid way, which is that if you are
happy, that is success enough. never mind your hunger pangs or lack of shelter
or your lack of impact upon the world.

3) Buddha and Jesus were both opponents of the stupid interpretation and
both proponents of the less stupid interpretation.

4) This is why Jagger felt the need to respond to Jesus and the Buddha when
he wrote, "Success success success, does it matter? Uh-huh". Jagger teaches
us that while happiness and material success may indeed conflict, in just
the way his predecessors taught, it is still one's moral duty to seek success,
to the greatest extent you can without jeopardizing your spiritual health.
And Jagger sets his life out there as an example. Because the world needs the
spiritually healthy to rise as far as they can. Otherwise the spiritually
unhealthy will rule everything and spread their disease to everyone.

Happiness is the internal form of success. And success is the external
form of happiness. And one sought at the expense of the other is vanity,
even if achieved.

this is a pretty thoughtful review, which we recommend even if it only gives
the album 3 stars out of 5. since the reviewer really or mostly likes
about 13 of the songs, we wonder what it takes for him or her to give three
and a half.

we pretend to speak for more than ourselves. it is a flaw, like a big
nose, but don't hate us for it. we have other redeeming qualities.

Fall CDs: Superstars double up
"Other stars are doubling up? Well, then Mick Jagger will quintuple up! SuperHeavy is a loose supergroup with Jagger, Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, A.R. Rahman and Damien Marley. It's great to hear Jagger in a new context - and playing with musicians who are not pretending to be Keith Richards".

I would not mind to see SuperHeavy live and some of the songs from Alfie would
actually complete their setlist nicely. After all, Joss Stone was also on the soundtrack.

I'm sure that Mick will keep Stones songs out of this, but Paint it black
could be very interesting with the contribution of A.R. Rahman. Just a tought.

Re: SuperHeavy

I love the album. Every song is good. (Haven't heard the bonus tracks yet.)

I like the lyrics in World Keeps Turning, esp at the beginning when Damian says, "Nice to be important, but important to be nice" and later in the chorus, Mick and Joss sing, "Let your heart stay strong."

"While the world keeps turning,
Life goes on,
And the fires keep on burning,
Let your heart stay strong."

Nice lyrics.

Re: SuperHeavy

ok i purchased after thinking long and hard about it. here are a few comments i have about it.

1 i listened to the bonus tracks on youtube and didn't like 2 of them so i purchased the regular edition of the cd. i was on the fence about buying it in the first place and after hearing the bonus tracks and seeing the special edition was in a lame cardboard sleeve i couldn't see spending an extra $4.00 on it and got the jewel case version

2 the 30 second samples on amazon do not do the album justice although there are still a few filler tunes. much better than i thought it would be.

3 too many times songs start into reggae when its not needed and usually the song starts off as something else altogether

Re: SuperHeavy

Listened to it several times, and I actually think it gets better with every listen. There are a lot of layers on this, and its more of a raggae sounding gem. I think every song is decent with the exception of " I cant take it no more". It just so damn generic. I got to keep thinking that this is not the Stones. What I really do love it kind of reminds me when the Stones took chances even when they didnt succeed. Overall, great album with the exception of one mighty big dud imho.

haven't had the time. keep hoping others will pitch in, which is probably
already happening here and there on the net...

don't worry. soon if not already some idiot lyrics site will botch up the
words totally, and it will be instantly copied onto all the other lyrics
sites, and will become the official words in the eyes of the world, and then
as usual at some point nocomment will futilely try to correct things.
