its not going to be a great hit and it doesnt matter,it wont change micks image or place in music history one iota.

hes just having fun. its more fun hanging with your friends and making music than jamming with an old angry guy who seems to hate everything you do and talks about your cock in public.

Totally agree!
I do not think Keith looks at him with such admiration and adoration as Stewart.

Jagger's SuperHeavy Supergroup to Drop Album in September

Universal Music's A&M will release the album from SuperHeavy, a group featuring Mick Jagger, Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart, singer Joss Stone, composer A.R. Rahman and reggae artist Damian Marley. No exact release date is set. An official release said the album will be unveiled in September; the first single is titled "Miracle Worker" and the five stars will be recording a video for the track. Jagger and Stewart co-produced the album.

Recording in various studios around the world -- France, Cyprus, Miami, India -- the majority of the tracks laid down over three weeks in Los Angeles earlier this year. The quartet wrote 22 songs in their first six days together. The term "SuperHeavy" was inspired by Muhammad Ali.

Jagger and Stewart had worked together on the 2004 soundtrack to the film "Alfie," and Stewart produced Stone's last album. Both wanted to bring in a Jamaican musician and Damian Marley entered the picture with his rhythm section, bassist and composer Shiah Coore and drummer Courtney Diedrick. They met Rahman while recording in Los Angeles.

According to the band's bio, SuperHeavy came together after Jagger and Stewart wondered what a band of musicians from different genres would sound like. Jagger had his doubts it would come together.

One of the first on the album is Jagger singing in Urdu. He takes lead on Rahman's song "Satyameva Jayate," which translates to "the truth alone triumphs."

in Urdu? Just like on the 75/76 tour!

I wonder if that last sentence should read "he takes a lead" since Mick told the NME that he only sang one line in Urdu.

Is he getting back at Keith.

For what ?

Thought it was well known but ... the rumor was that the stones were going to have another album & tour again, in 2010... then the rumor changed to say it 2011 ... then Keith's book came out, lots of press about derogatory marks about Keith ... no more stones rumors, now they are involved in solo projects. Doesn't seem like a stretch to wonder if this has anything to do with the book. It's definitely a possibility anyway.

So Mick (the same Mick who has recorded 5 solo albums in the last 27 years - the same number of Stones albums that he's made in that time) is 'getting back' at Keith with a non-Stones project that he started a couple of years before Keith's book was actually published?

How does that work?

Cant really argue with that.

Mick and Keith dont owe each other or the world another note of Stones music.

If we get anything else from them, then by all means bring it on - but they sure as hell shouldnt have to feel obliged to be locked together for months on end if their hearts arent in it just because a few fans need a Stones fix.

I didn't say that was the way it is, only that it is not a stretch to wonder ... as for how it works, well again, they were supposed to have an album & tour in 2010 and as it got mid-way thru the year they then changed it to 2011. Now they stop that to work on solo projects? That's how that works, I guess ... no cause for concern?

They seem to do some sort of solo work before a tour at least since 89. This seems par for the course before a Stones album.

Correct, par for the course due to a feud - recall Keith's comments, he never wanted to go solo & only did it after it seemed to him like Mick abandoned the band. Keith has gone like 17 years without a new winos album, so odd he all of a sudden has moved onto that when Stones had plans -- seems like plans have changed ... why?

thanks to left shoe shuffle(Rock Off)

And if you weren't busy enough, now you have a band called Super Heavy. Joss Stone is in it, as is Mick Jagger, Damien Marley and AR Rahman. How did this come into being, and what can we expect?

"Well, it's been going on for quite a while, actually, pretty much in secret. But in the last year or so, we've been taking our jam sessions and turning them into songs and things, and it's really sounding huge. We've got a lot of material that we've managed to whittle down to 18 songs, so we're in the process of editing those and shooting videos and making artwork. It's a fun thing.
Musically, I don't know if it's 'super heavy.' That name came up when Damien was doing vocals on a song, and he started going, 'Heavy, heavy…we're super heavy!' And that just kind of stuck, you know? It's more super-heavy in a Jamaican way, not so much a heavy rock way. I think we'll have a single coming out in a few weeks, and then the album will be in the fall."

Thank you Proudmary for passing the information about SuperHeavy. Personally I try not to care about what's going on between Mick and Keith; I keep wishing both of them the best. If they both do solo projects, good for us fans because that makes more music Rolling Stones related to listen to.

I'll be happy once we know how the vocals are broken out. It sounds like there will be some Wilbury-style shared vocals and some duets and some vocal showcases for individuals. I'm hoping that's how it breaks out, because I'll be less enthusiastic if Mick is just one of the vocalists harmonizing on a chorus who gets maybe two lines in the rest of the song.

I can't imagine Mick having a minor role in a project like this - I can only imagine him as the frontman.

I dont recall any serious talk about an album. A Stones album is only made as an excuse to promote a tour anyway. There was never any talk that I'm aware of a 2011 tour. Maybe 2009 and 2010. But anything else was idle gossip.

There were other reasons why they didnt tour that we're not privy to. There were certainly tentative plans. Its not the first time that tentative plans to tour didnt bear fruit. 1996 and 2004 being other examples.

I would imagine that Woody's antics a couple of years ago (and the resultant insurance problems that would arise from having a bandmember seemingly on a collision course with oblivion) and more importantly Patti Hansen's cancer diagnosis were very significant factors in putting any plans they had on hold.

Rock and Roll,
mops

You're welcome.

I, in turn, is very interested in what happens between them. This dynamic between them is what keeps the Stones and makes them relevant in our time. Keith put Jagger to ridicule, Mick has become such a cause for jokes, in a sense, a pathetic figure. Who has not only honed his wit on him.
I do not think it's plesant to Jagger. And now he tries to prove to the world that there is still life in the old dog. This in turn starts Keith, and he too will try to prove to Mick it's early to write him off.

After that, I think it's possible that the Stones would do something together. I do not believe that such an ambitious and aspiring man like Mick would throw his entire career down the toilet. He'll figure out how to leave in style
