OT Alabama Shakes appreciation

If there had already been a thread on this I apologize - I'm late to the party.
But I had to share my enthusiasm....
Doesn't this song sound Stonesy - in the best possible way.
Love this girl and this band.

I am proud to say I started the first thread on them here a while ago. They caught my attention when I was in a record store in a mall and I heard these great guitar licks and funky vibe. I thought it was some Stax act I had never heard of. I asked the employee who it was and bought the album on the spot. They have an enthusiasm for their music that reminds me of the young Rolling Stones. Brittany Howard is the modern reincarnation of Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Totally agree -great band. I discovered these guys last year when they played on the Jools Holland show. Have't seen them live yet but will get my change this June when they play the Hard Rock Calling festival with Black Crowes and Springsteen (what a great lineup!). I also bumped into their bass player last year at the Werchter Festival in Belgium when I was there to see Pearl Jam. He was just wandering around the crowd. A really nice, friendly, down to earth guy.

I thought it was some Stax act I had never heard of.

I didn't necessarily think it was a STAX act, but STAX was the first thing I thought of when I heard their sound; well, STAX and Ike and Tina.

I rarely buy CD's from just listening to one song, but caught Hold On on the radio and I had to pull the car over. Bought the CD the next time I saw it and every other song on the album was terrible for my likings? Hoping for something a little more solid on this second release.

Saw them at the Forum last year, certainly worth catching IMO.

Watched them on SNL a few weeks back, as underwhelmed. Took a bathroom break.

One of my favourite bands. They will play in Italy in july only in a festival in lucca , but they open for Paolo Nutini (boring for me)and they will play 45 min only. Unfortunally .. I don't think i am going , it is a 3 hours drive for 45 minutes gig.... So pissed off

I've watched and rewatched their show from Coachella last Saturday that I downloaded from DIME...they have become one of my favorite new bands!

I enjoy listening to this band. My fear is that like the Black Keys, I will grow tired of it real fast...but hopefully not.
