Sorry to be so OT but I don't believe it for one minute. You don't fire a guy mid-tour cos he has a 4-digit champagne bill. That's his problem, and it doesn't put the band in jeopardy.
You put the band in jeopardyif you're so addcited to H that you cannot play your parts onstage. That warrants a plane trip home mid-tour.
That's why I think the "champagne tub" incident happened in 1970, not in 1973.
Bobby probably thought he was a Stones and he tried to impress this French woman... "Hey chérie watch how I spend my money". Silly but charming!

He refused to come along to the next gig. It had nothing to do with the bill.
