OT: Congratulations Norway!

...and Magnus Carlsen who defended his World Chess Championship title yesterday in Sochi, Russia. Carlsen won in
the eleventh game, 6½-4½, rendering the twelfth game unnecessary. Not bad for a 23 year-old!

He was sick as a dog (fever) for the last two games as well smiling smiley

Anand struggles with nerves. That's why he lost. He did a great match this time, compared to last year.

Vichy did way better this year, but the nerves made it difficult for him.

The game Anand won was masterfully played.

Then again, Carlsen is a master at tiring out his opponents.

Ah nice to know: when I have some serious time (will be in '15) I will have a look at all the moves.
You play?

Well I'm interested in that too! Professionally; one of my contacts works for a French company that produces all kinds of security products like that. Do you know which company made (design & production) the Norway pasport?

Don't worry: I'm not challenging Carlsen either...

This fragment is fun to watch. Biggest double blunder in the history of World champion chess, it could have changed the match in favor of Anand smoking smiley

Absolutely. Anand was so focused on his next moves that he totally ignored that opportunity.

Yep, but yesterday Anand admitted Carlsen was superior. Is there much attention in the Norwegian media for this match?

It's been all over the news, and several TV channels have broadcasted the match live. People are watching 5 hours games at work. Chess fever.

Small country, proud of their few winners, he he smiling smiley

Norwegian World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen kicks ass at the Dutch TaTA Steel
Chess tournament 2015 with a solid lead, 6.0 out of 8 games. He beats various top chess players in Bobby Fischer-style.

The first three games he tried some odd openings and variations even Carlson cannot permit against top players-two draws and one loss, but then he shifted gears.cool smiley

Carlsen did it again today. Six wins in a row. He can only be given a challenge by computers it seems.

Good to see Kasparov's (sore) @ss.
It got beaten repeatedly by Russian police after the CIA told Garry he had the charisma to overthrow Putin and become the new master of the Kremlin. All it took was a few public riots in Moscow and Putin would flee. It didn't work... grinning smiley

Now Garry's dropped politics and he's back to chess. Good for him! thumbs up

More Congratulations to Norway for Martin Odegaard being singed by Real Madrid.

He must be a very good young player to be wanted at The Bernabeu Stadium, which was the last time I saw The Rolling Stones play.

He's unreal. Got Norway caps as a 15 year old. And when he came in from the bench in these marches he totally dominated the games.

He's got the Messi-touch. Mark my words. Let's hope they won't eat this kid alive. What a talent!

It went down $ 1.10 since January 2014. That's something smiling smiley

If you have more money, things get more expensive. Simple market economic rules...

But we can still enjoy the cheap cheeseburgers.
