I AM a die hard Yankees fan, and I am thrilled that I got to see him play a total of six times in person (New York, Boston, and Atlanta).

He'll go down in history as the greatest shortstop in Yankees history, and the game will truly miss him.

I was at Thursday night's game. His last game in pinstripes. He gave everyone there a lasting memory.

I just wish the Yankees had made it to the wild card game against Oakland. That would have been fun. Slide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a DIE-HARD Sox fan but I do like Jeter! He has class, style and is the PERFECT ball player for all time. He is hard NOT to admire. What a role model, always gracious on & off the field. I wish him well...and you Yankee fans must admit BOSTON gave him one HELL of a send off!

He's an all-time great Yankee player (up there with Ruth, Gehrig, Dimaggio and Mantle), and all-time great baseball player, period.

MLB could use more 'Jeters.'

Red Sox fan here with nothing but admiration for Jeter. Won't deny that I despised the team he played for but can't say a bad thing about him as a person or ballplayer. I view him in a similar light to guys like Cal Ripken, Jr. & Lou Gehrig. Agree with nightskyman that "MLB could use more 'Jeters'." So could the NFL, NBA, NHL, FIFA, IOC, etc. Come to think of it, the whole world could use more 'Jeters' sprinkled in throughout society.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Yankees fan here with nothing but admiration and respect for the Boston Red Sox organization and the Boston fans, not only for going out of their way to do that for a rival, but for putting on a top-quality show, short on cheesy gifts and long on substance.
