In their own words ??
Posted by: maremma ()

Hello,
some years ago, I had the opportunity to have a look at a book titled (I think) "in their own words" displaying all the words and comments from MJ between the songs captured live?
Any idea what it is and where I can get a copy?
Thanks in advance and all the best drinking smiley

I think that ROCKMAN has got it wrong there.

The book he points to is not, as the original poster says, "displaying all the words and comments from MJ between the songs captured live"

It's good, but it's nothing more than a trawl through cuttings files picking up a load of quotes.

I did read ages ago about someone doing a book of the actual words between songs, but have never seen it. So if someone knows about the book the original poster is after, then I'd be quite keen to get hold of it as well!

Would have to be a labor of love...for someone to complete a book project such as this. I don't think it exists, don't think anyone would buy that in big numbers (even if a collector's edition).

It was a series of books, I recall there being other artists featured as well in separate volumes.

I bought it in 1980 or 81. I'm sure I have it kicking around somewhere. One of the first books on the Stones I'd ever read...some pretty funny quotes.

Are you telling Captain C to strip down to whip you? or are you getting naked?

Thanks for the comments.
I should have somewhere in my archives (quite messie) some reamining pages.
I'll try to sort them out in the next days.

Same here, bought in in 1981. My copy looked like this (but mine is totally in pieces due to heavy use, I even don't know where those pieces are noe... I even translated into Finnish back then, which made my English teacher happy..)

I have "Words of Wonder" Vol. 3
It covers all the "Steel Wheels -Tour" 1989 and 1990
It's a loose sheet Book in a small size of221 pages. But my english is not to good.
Please can anybody poste in german what Mick said on 22.09.89 in Syracuse
"Hi SYRACUSE,how's the feeling ? Yeah, Dressed all in a turkish taxi driver's jock strap up here.We gonna do some new songs ..."
I think Mick said the same in 1981 TV Concert in Hampton

I think that was 64-76. Next is 77-85.
I remember there were 4 books plus one Keith solo.
Probably Olaf R. is on IORR too. Maybe ask Falo01 . .
