Keith has been in the studio in New York playing guitar on several tracks for Tom Waits' new album.

Willander, McEnroe and Pat Cash actually jammed with Keith in the 80s. There is a video recording of HTW, I think. Keith's a big tennis fan, and Willander is a good friend of Keith's.

Hope this is true. Keith was great on Rain Dogs.

This seems fishy. Tom records in CA, not NY. The great Tom Waits blog Eyeball Kid has no mention of this. They're usually on the ball with any Waits news.

I wish they would do an album as a true equal collaboration. the possibilities can be heard by listening to "Blind Love" on Rain Dogs. Keith on guitar and down and dirty country backing vocals. True, that was in the 80s, but still...

In fact, that kind of scenario would sound the best possible one as far as Keith's recent muse and condition and activities (to my eyes) go. He has been his best in doing and interpreting his ballads in recent decade/s. With Waits there is no need to sound so sharp and sweet - rougher it is, the better it is. They would make a beautiful team - a helluva team actually...
Besides "Blind Love" and Keith's ballad section is ageless music, or, 'mature man's music', so I don't think their age would be any problem. I can imagine they could very convincigly provide some nice results. Two hobos..
