Most Powerful Live Version of .... Factory Girl ??
Date: August 25, 2014 17:09

Was the 2013 version of " Factory Girl " from Los Angeles better than the 1997 version and / or the 1990 versions ??

The one played at the last Paris show in 1990 was quite good.
It makes me think that back then the band was not afraid of playing an unknown song in front of 50 000 people.

The Glastonbury version was at least up there with the best of them, imo.

The LA version was remarkably good.

I witnessed a great version at Giants Stadium, 1997.
Very, very good!

The Flashpoint version is brilliant...
and not reworked as all the other tracks.

Not all. Sad Sad Sad and Little Red Rooster from Atlantic City are untouched.

I don't remember all. What are the overdubs on JFF and Satisfaction?

Everything on Flashpoint is touched (shortened or reworked) except for Factory Girl!
Basement News #2 says: "Sad sad sad: Diff. announcement, shortened at end"
"Little Red Rooster: shortened 2nd Clapton solo"
"JJF: reworked lead vocals, shortened live backing vocals" [?]
"Satisfaction: reworked lead, additional backing vocals & shortened"

Play With fire (the Highwire live bonus track) seems to be untouched, too.

Yeah, they are not untouched, but edited. You're right.

Agreed that I've always enjoyed that one as well. Guess its just cause its the only official live one and sounded damn good enough that I didn't feel compelled to seek others.

Remember that some of the editing didn't have anything to do with the quality of the playing or recording of those tracks. It was merely done to get the tracks into one LP.

Wembley Stadium, London, July 6, 1990.
"I just want to make love to you" is also from this show.
