Songs played in concert by your ROLLING STONES...some astonishing & thorough statistics courtesy setlist.fm

I tried copy and pasting below...not sure how easy it is to follow though. Interesting stat is that they've done covers in concert more than any single album in their catalogue (most played cover, Little Queenie).

Of their albums, Exile is the most represented, even than what is on the greatest hits collection 40 Licks. If you click on the individual album/song links it tells you have often each cut has been played. Lots of other info on here, what a great resource.

Oh, BTW, biggest warhorse...JJF, followed closely by Brown Sugar and then HTW:

An appalling stat as far as I'm concerned, YGMR has been played more than Paint It Black.

I would be delirious with joy if they did a tour/shows working through this list of songs from the bottom upwards. [www.setlist.fm]

Ronnie has given them something to live up to now. I hope they've been watching and taking note.

Chance would be a fine thing...

What?!? It was played five times in 2013 and in most towns in 2002 but 81 times?

OK, I stand corrected. I'd love to hear one of those '71 versions.

According to Felix Aeppli ...CYHMK...."Probably only performed March 4, 1971 (Newcastleupon-
Tyne, early show)" ........... [aeppli.ch]

What I find startling, is a song like Wild Horses, arguably one of the ten best they've ever recorded, was played live the same number of times as Saint of Me, which was released 26 years later.

Unfathomable.

looking at this really makes you realize how special the Licks tour was set list wise.

This one's cool...a concert map of ALL the concerts they've ever done and where.

US is number one of course with 627 shows. UK number two with 433.

Guess who else is in the top 10!

Now I'm guessing without having looked ...
Germany
France
Canada
Australia
Netherlands
Ireland

Hm, I was right about all except Ireland. Turns out Japan, Sweden and Denmark complete the top 10.
(I was guessing maybe they did Ireland many times during their mostly local period in the early days.)

Easy to dwell into all those statistics, man ...
Did ya'll know they played La Bamba at the Ealing Jazz club in London on 4 December 1962?

LOL...with one show between 1965 and 2003? Four in total since '65?

If only.

They also rehearsed an album there.... once.

Sweden among the top ten Stones nations and Chantilly Lace played 25 times live on tour. Those are some of the facts you will learn if you look in there...

You'll also learn that person that's 'guested' the most with them is Mick Taylor, at 69 times, which is ludicrous as the lion's share of those times was when he was actually in the band.

Second most, Sheryl Crow at 14.
Eric Clapton, 8 times
Bob Dylan 5 times...I never knew that!

I like how people use Setlist.fm as if thats a credible source. Yeah, its good for current stuff, but its also totally random and there's no way to prove many of these setlists. Just saying, the whole site is based off of who is bored enough at the time to update these things. There are also many places where people just screw with the sets, and the fact that some of the statistics attribute things to wrong albums is another flaw.

Isnt the real question here, whose white dog is that?

Re: Rolling Stones live statistics

I'm guessing it's Woodies, since it looks right at home there--either that, or it's one of the many base players they auditioned at the time.

Ah so... He looks like he can play and he sure looks like a good dog.

Plus Keith really likes him. Just look at the way he's right up alongside that dog, getting down and grooving along--just the way he does with Darryl.

setlist.fm state Tops was played in San Francisco on 17 October 1981. This is not confirmed on Nico's site or Gazza's Rocks Off. How many more errors are there I wonder?
