Reading Nick Kent's autobio "Apathy For The Devil". Interesting, but it just reinforces how disposable I think so much of the music he wrote so passionately about in the 70s and 80s was, particularly glam rock. Seemed so important at the time. The guy almost became yet another fatal casualty of trying to orbit too close to the sun of Keith Richards.

I am currently reading both Dave Grohl's 'This Is A Call' and 'Playing With Fire', the book about ex-hockey player Theoren Fleury. Both are great. Before that it was 'Fall of Giants' by Ken Follet. Entertaining. Before that, 'Tough Guy' - the Bob Probert story. Another hockey read. That was a good read. The guy was outta control. Before that, the Steven Tyler one. Ok, I'not a huge fan of Tyler's 'prose,' but I grew up in the 70s listening to old Aerosmith records. Before that, the Keith book, 'Life'. Absolutely loved that.

Reading The Last Stormlord by Glenda Larke right now. This trilogy was sent to us by an English professor at Oxford who rode horses with us recently. It reminds me of Dune somewhat but is very good. peace

Right now, "The End" by Ian Kershaw, about the last days of the Third Reich and how it managed to continue functioning (brutally) right up until, well, you know...not exactly Summer beach reading, but Kershaw is one of the best historians on this topic, and his two-volume Hitler biography is the gold standard.

very worthwhile, well researched thoroughly engaging book. interesting how next to none of this history is taught in schools..
