The new 'comedy caper' film and soundtrack album by Status Quo, titled 'Bula Quo' and set in Fiji (tag line: 'It started with guitars...and ended in guns') is coming out in June

After the mostly excellent return to form of 2011's 'Quid Pro Quo', the first single from the soundtrack titled 'Bula Bula Quo' was released on the website...the comments from fans was so bad, so awful, the Message Board had to close^

It's cheesy as hell, yes, and a step down from the renaissance they had with the 2011 album and the reunion tour with the original members recently, but is it as bad to have to close a forum??

Bad timing. They'd got some credibility back in recent years. The recent reunion was a triumph. Now this film and soundtrack could dink them again.

It's something that could almost only happen to Quo, following up a major triumph with not just something dodgy, but an absolute debacle

If the internet was around throughout the 80s and 90s the Quo board would have been shut many-a-time due to the surreal choices they made for musical direction
and the virtiolic fan reaction.

I bought the "Frantic Four-release" from March 15 (Hammersmith Apollo), and it was fantastic!

It can't be easy for Rossi and the management to decide which fork in the road to go now. Probably not easy or very pleasant for Rhino, Matt and Andy - to watch this fan uproar...

Let's hope the film and the album is at least passable, for their sake.

Hey that movie wasn't that bad. The title was dumb but the movie is watchable.

Elvis was good in it. I like all of his movies.

What did the King have to do with this?

Well Elvis plays music and Status Quo play music and its a film.

The reviews go from bad to worse...as each new song is premiered on radio before the album comes out, a lot of fans are becoming increasingly depressed at the lack of quality^
