Really? - every album they say "It's our best since Exile".

bands mislead their fans all the time. the stones are no exception. go to a concert and what do they say? "hello (insert your city here), we love this place!" or "you're the best crowd we've had this tour!".

of course they deceive their fans - it's all part of the biz their in. ludicrous suggestion....give me an example where they didn't do this?

Some members of the "fan club" will disagree with you.

Even if the fan club operation was contracted out, it still represented the Stones.

...One album of new stuff in 8 years...Now, it's passed still 6 years and nothing...It's 3 years and a half from the last show...I think that they've really misleaded their fans!

actually it's 13 years, but who's counting?

If for 2012 they'll make a reissue of old stuff, a "Fifty Licks" Compilation with all warehorse and 3-4 new tracks and nothing else, should be a real shame!

P.S....I'm afraid that it will be so...

they do have a warehouse full of warhorses....

gotta strongly disagree here. Examples: WAY overpriced box sets like Exile, needlessly edited concert videos, that lousy "official" fan club, the Rarities album (a cheap cash-in that could have been vastly better), and one of the worst of all: selling the Rock n Roll Circus soundtrack on iTunes for $9.99 and not even including the Stones songs on there - only the other artists!

"selling the Rock n Roll Circus soundtrack on iTunes for $9.99 and not even including the Stones songs on there - only the other artists!"

Really, wouldn't that have something to do with ABKO though?

They're not even straight up & honest with each other. Keith had no idea that
Mick (Jagger) had Mick (Taylor) contribute to the Exile extras. And if Keith DID know
and told the interviewer Taylor had not helped out...then he was misleading us (the fan).

Maybe you should clarify how they've been "straight up"?

And you may be right. I was just really upset about it. I lost my old cd copy of it and went to buy it 2 weeks ago and didn't realize til I had already paid I didn't get the full album.

What about only doing one number from the album, A Bigger Bang on the tour of the same name? At least, that was the case when I saw them in London.
It might have been a lucky escape as there are only 4 tracks worth listening to on that stinker of an album but it's definitely a case of misleading the public.

An early contender for 'Gullible Thread of the Year' ...I mean, youre taking the piss here, right?

Personally, I'm still waiting on that '10-12 date theatre tour' promised for the UK in 1999 which was to 'include cities we havent played in for three decades' as compensation for the 1998 UK shows being postponed for a year.

A tour which, its worth adding, was postponed because it was to protect the CREW from being subject to a large retrospective tax bill - when it turned out that an investigation by Q magazine a few weeks later uncovered the fact that most of the crew were from the US, and wouldnt have been liable to UK income tax.

Ho hum.

HAHAHAHAHAHA - I only say:
1. Blondie (their 'secret weapon' (Jagger)). Somebody playing guitar more or less hidden in the background, trying to give the audience the impression that Keith and Ronnie still playing well (and all the time)
2. Watch the Biggest Bang DVD or listen to any officially released 'live' CD - and try to count the overdubs (on the DVD there's a lot of asynchronicity! - here's just one example:

So don't tell me the Stones don't fool their fans!

oh and can I add releasing a ABB, then re-relasing it a month later, w/2 bonus tracks (dvd only no less).

I love them but they're rip off artists. the only time they gave us a real quality product at a generous price was "Four Flicks". 4 great dvd's for $30 - admittedly hard to beat.

What about Mick selling himself as the ultimate sex god for his entire career, and now it has been revealed that he has an undersized penis?

I demand a refund!

The Grand Illusion
(Dennis DeYoung - Styx)

Welcome to the grand illusion
Come on in and see what's happening
Pay the price, get your tickets for the show
The stage is set, the band starts playing
Suddenly your heart is pounding
You're wishing secretly you were a star

But don't be fooled by the radio
The TV or the magazines
They'll show you photographs of how your life should be
But they're just someone else's fantasies
So if you think your life is complete confusion
'Cause you never win the game

Just remember that it's a grand illusion
And deep inside we're all the same
We're all the same

So if you think your life is complete confusion
Because your neighbor's got it made
Just remember that it's a grand illusion
And deep inside we're all the same

America spells competition
Join us in our blind ambition
Get yourself a brand new motorcar
Someday soon we'll stop to ponder
What on earth's this spell we're under
We made the grade and still we wonder
Who the hell we are

Peoples circumstances change all the time it happens to all of us..and im sure The Stones have had to go back on their word a few times..but the way some fans go on about them anyone would think they've deliberately gone out there to try and mislead their fans. Why would they want to do that for?
