O/T Robert Plant & Neil Diamond, Electric Proms, London, October 29th & 30th 2010

Hello,

It was never in doubt that these would be two enjoyable shows at one of the most original venues that you'll ever visit.

Planty's set didn't quite hit the heights of his show in Liverpool about 10 days ago, but it is still a thing of wonder at times...especially loving 'Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down'...

1.Down To The Sea
2.Angel Dance
3.House of Cards
4.Please Read The Letter
5.Misty Mountain Hop
6.Tangerine
7.Trouble Your Mind
8.The Satisfied Mind
9.Move Up
10.Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down
11.Central-Two-O-Nine
12.Monkey
13.House of the Holy
14.Can't Buy My Love
15.Tall Cool One
16.Gallows Pole
17.Harm's Swift Way
18.Rock and Roll
19.12 Gates To The City
20.I Bid You Goodnight

As for Mr. Diamond's set, well either you get Neil and his songs or you don't...and last night was probably the best show that I have seen him perform, cheese and all.

Just the best sing-along night you could wish for...just add beer!

1.Beautiful Noise
2.Blue Jeans
3.Hello Again
4.Play Me
5.Solitary Man
6.Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon
7.Cherry Cherry
8.Midnight Train to Sunshine
9.Ain't No Sunshine
10.I'm a Believer
11.The Boat That I Row (With Lulu)
12.I'm a Fool for You (With Lulu)
13.Pretty Amazing Grace
14.Shilo (Amy MacDonald solo)
15.This is the Life (Amy MacDonald solo)
16.Holly Holy
17.Cracklin' Rose
18.I Am... I Said
19.Sweet Caroline
20.Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show

...with added Lulu above, and Neil obviously isn't too concerned at concealing his use of teleprompters...

Believe me when I say that the roof was raised by the last 5 numbers: in fact I'm still singing...magic!

The bonus-ball was meeting IORR's 'Silver Dagger': the shows that this guy has seen...I am green with envy, hah-hah! Top bloke, Mike!

Cheers,

Si.

Hi Si,

Great meeting you too. Still recovering today. Thanks for the ticket. Was amazed to find that The Roundhouse kept back about 50 tickets for each night which they sold at £25 for all three Electric Proms shows - Elton John/Leon Russell; Robert Plant - which didn't sell out - and Neil Diamond. Something I'll remember next year.

You could still order tickets from The Roundhouse online on the day of the concert. I can only think the BBC held back a whole bunch of tickets for staff etc and must have returned them. It seemed the whole seating area upstairs was for industry people.

Hi Adrian,

Gotta say that they were two pretty good shows, and kudos to all involved for keeping the prices reasonable at £27.
Ah...so that's where my licence fee went...

See you at next years when The Stones play. I hope!

Cheers,

Si.
