you'd think the stones could have planned this better 50 years ago by waiting a couple of days to be a band so we could have this wondrous event on the weekend.
Good point. Really, Mick could've done the numbers real quick and could have waited. But no. Even then he couldn't be bothered.
But really, we need Gazza to figure out the details of when they actually worked and the years they've done nothing, etc - and figure out when the true 50 is. They're backing in to this "anniversary".
How can the earth "change vis-a-vis the milky way" when we're IN the middle of it?
Think about it...think of the chocolate bar. It's there, you unwrap it. You eat it. The milky way has changed vis-a-vis you. Now, the milky way is in the middle of YOU!
Then, all of a sudden, you see Bill Wyman and a metal detector, only it isn't actually a metal detector, it's his new bass guitar that looks like a metal detector. It's all quite surreal.

To bad Brian won't be around to celebrate with them. If he had lived, who knows, maybe he would have eventually returned to the band at some point. Especially now with the 50th anniversary and all.

Hey Chris, Richard Thompson cut his teeth on the Stones just like the rest of us....don't be so sure he won't pick up on Stone's -like oddities at the workshop. Sounds like a hoot. Have fun. peace

Just curious how everyone is going to celebrate the Rolling Stones 50th birthday? On March 12 there will only be four months to go! If they are performing in Hyde Park on that day are you planning on attending?
