The song is called COCONUT MAN, written by Toots. Taj Mahal did it on his excellent Hula Blues album. Thanx for posting!

Good for Ronnie. He does it for the music when he appears with friends.Wouldn't it have been great if Keith had turned up.Toots and The Maytels are great mates of his and I reckon' he is still in London town.Maybe he was backstage.Who knows. >grinning smiley<

See previous post last night. Toots was Ronnies guest on his radio show. Fantastic combination of music, talent and energy. As I said listen to the Toots track with Willie Nelson.

It clearly is Monkey Man
Taj used the song to create something completely different and willingly or not gave Toots Hibbert credit. They are essentially the same song...

Hugging Up The Big Monkey Man!

you can hear a bit of Taj's homage to Toots here:

It's funny; watching the clip again, this 60-something guy playing an acoustic guitar is the most energetic/moving-around guy in the band. The bassist next to him catches the spirit and starts bopping and moving around too! Kudos on Woodie.

I don't understand; I was talking about Ronnie when I said '60-something guy playing an acoustic guitar'. What is a 54-36 guy?
