The Little Red Rooster/Off the Hook combination is right up there and Street Fighting Man/No Expectations, Mother's Little Helper/Lady Jane and She's a Rainbow/2000 Light Years From Home were singles in some places and are, too, if they're counted.

If you're counting just the A-sides, Satisfaction and Get Off of My Cloud would be, of course. 19th Nervous Breakdown/As Tears Go By.

Brown Sugar/Bitch/(Let it Rock) is one of the best combinations but like most of the seventies singles, it's a couple of tracks from an album stuck together. Like Wild Horses/Sway and Happy/All Down the Line.

But counting both sides, and restricting myself to singles which were primarily singles, rather than extracts from the albums (i.e. the Decca singles), Ruby Tuesday/LSTNT and JJF/Child of the Moon would probably be first and second or second and first. And they'd be at or near the top, anyway.

1/2. Ruby Tuesday/Let's Spend the Night Togther
1/2. Jumpin' Jack Flash/Child of the Moon
3. Little Red Rooster/Off the Hook
4. Honky Tonk Women/You Can't Always Get What You Want
5. Paint It Black/Long Long While
6. We Love You/Dandelion
7. The Last Time/Play With Fire

In 1978, I was only 5 years old and collecting singles like crazy, so thinking back to my pre-LP days, these were what I had. My top 7 Stones 45 RPM's:

1. Jumping Jack Flash/ Child of the Moon
2. Honky Tonk Women / YCAGWYW
3. Beast of Burden / When the Whip Comes Down
4. Miss You / Far Away Eyes
5. Start Me Up / No Use in Crying
6. Satisfaction / UAWCPM

That's all I had... but if I could have added another it would have been Wild Horses b/w Sway.
