If they don't want to do another tour they can always do what some other major acts do and play Las Vegas for a couple of months.

Seemed to work quite nicely for Elvis towards the end.

So did the fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches...it all came crashing down not too long after that though.

Very sad ending.

Even if one did not read the six previous pages one can say that they do not love performing together, they are not married to their fans (whereever that idea comes from), and they do not seem to be addicted to the stage. Keith Richards looks so old and weak, he is 68 but looks like 80+, that I wish him a joyful retirement, but a new tour would be too much.

My father is 76 years old and looks in way better shape. The hard living finally caught up to KR of course. I hope he's better physically than it appears.

The good news is that it doesn't have to be some massive mega tour. I would be satisfied with just one last farewell concert that included Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor, provided it was televised and later released to DVD. What is probably more realistic is some form of mini tour. Maybe 25 to 50 concerts.

Hopefully he has a few more trips to the stage left in his old bones.

Regarding Newton's first law...that is under the assumption that the object is in motion, which the Rolling Stones have not been for 5 years. If anything, that is a reason why the Stones WON'T continue rolling.

Yep. That's the second time that one has come out. And it's still not true. Kind of like the done deal.

Well, I don't believe in the assumption to begin with! But if you think of it like this, concerning Newton's law of motion: They are still rolling somewhat but on a infinite small scale, almost invisible for the bare eye, since they haven't decided to stop for good.

So on that infinitely small scale, almost invisible to the bare eye...that could mean they're actually on tour right now, and we're not even aware of it! smileys with beer

Yes, Keith seems to me about 80 years old suddenly.

Probably down to the drugs booze and smoking, and hard lifestyle in some ways (despite the luxury), but then again, can't be certain. He made it to 68 and a lot of people go before that - way before that even.

Hopefully he can find his niche now on TV or movies or whatever he likes to do. As he indicated in LIFE, he now considers himself an entertainer rather than a musician.

#1. PASSION: They absolutely love what they do.

#2. HISTORY: It defies logic to think that they would shut things down while at the doorstep to their historic 50th anniversary as a band. There is no way that door doesn't get kicked down!

#3. US: They are married to their fans. Till death do us part!

#4. PROFESSIONAL PRIDE: Wan't to prove to the world they can still create great music and perform it at a high level.

#5. MONEY: Any tour involving the Stones is a guaranteed money maker.

#6. ADDICTION: They are hopelessly addicted to performing.

#7. DESTINY: Couldn't quit if they wanted to, destiny would not allow it!

#8. THE WATCHMAN: A Mystery to be revealed on July 12, 2012!

I am saving the Number Nine for my final OT thread: 'Nine Reasons Why The Sons Of The Beatles Will One Day Come Together On The Same Stage And Pay Tribute To Their Famous Fathers'! I suppose you can guess why it will be my last post.
