My baby for a while
Won't you be my baby for a while

Gonna salt my highway
All down the line
Oh, gotta come all my way, yeah
All down the line, yeah

Now you dropped the water bottle, yeah
Dropped the water bottle, yeah, come on
Got to be the trouble
Got to, oh mama yeah, get you for a ride
Gonna chugging down
What a woman should do outta town

Won't you be my baby for a while
Ah, won't you be my baby for a while

I’m working
All down the line
Oh, hear the women singing, yeah
Singing sha-la, yeah

Coming down for trouble, yeah, yeah
Ah, you dropped the bottle, yeah
Causing all the trouble
You were making all the trouble, yeah, you coming down
I'll be coming round
If you got it broken, all down, all down now, yeah

Yeah, yeah, you dropped the water bottle, yeah
Gonna lead to trouble, yeah, come on

I wish they put this on the rarities disc and made it available to most everyone. Is this the same version of the song for download at amazon?

René, are you going to go back to A now and fill in all the Exile Deluxe tracks?

Yep, it's the same version, released as a bonus track on the Japanese Exile Deluxe.

Yep, gonna do all the Exile Deluxe tracks in alphabetic order first before moving back to "G". Maybe you can make a separate chapter for the Exile Deluxe tracks in the Track Talk Index? Hope this is not making the Index too complex now.

Not a problem - I'd already been thinking about including some of the recent threads about the newly-released tracks - I'll do those as well as your new ones because there's a lot of good stuff in there.

I know most people here do not agree, but I actually prefer this to the version on Exile. This one has got more bounce, more twang, and more color than the album version. The guitar sound here is definitely more pleasing to my ears. And no horns to clutter it up ... just straight-ahead, good time rock and roll like only the Stones can do.

First time I've heard it. Way different to the '69 outtake or the Exile album version. Quite like it smiling smiley

The Glimmers are great producers and songwriters, proof is here how they took this straight up version to the Exile is genius.

Is the Happy B-side anywhere? Supposedly different from the LP version.

Is this it?

I like this Beggar-ish acoustic version from The Black Box.

for me it's a great example of the Stones' work
this alternate version is great but more or less a "normal" rocker
the LP version is a true original song, a Stones classic
from the alternate to the final version, it surely was a long way to go,
lot of jams in the Nellcote basement to polish the gem !

It's available on various websites as stand alone track, including Qobuz which has it in lossless version : All Down The Line

You mean the original LP version? Agreed! It's possibly one of the greatest rocker songs of all time, by any band!
