Stones in Exile:151min?
Posted by: carlostones10 ()

The stores mention Stones in Exile dvd has 151min. But I always read 61min.

Do you know something about this? Maybe 61min (movie) + extras?

As far as I know it will be in 3 different lengths. 30 minutes on the Exile Super DeLuxe edition dvd, 61 minutes on the BBC tv airing and 151 minutes on the official standalone dvd available in shops.

Editorial Reviews
Product Description
In the spring of 1971 the Rolling Stones departed the UK to take up residence in France as tax exiles. Keith Richards settled at a villa called Nellcôte in Villefranche-sur-Mer and this became the venue for the recording of much of the band s masterpiece Exile On Main Street . Stones In Exile tells the story in the band s own words and through extensive archive footage of their time away from England and the creation of this extraordinary double album, which many regard as the Rolling Stones finest achievement.

Bonus Features
Extensive additional footage including interviews with all the band members, footage from C...sucker Blues and Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts returning to Olympic Studios and Jagger s country house Stargroves where a lot of the early work on the album was done.

"30 minutes on the Exile Super DeLuxe edition dvd"

So we're expected to pay 120 € for a sampler? Tsk tsk...

>> So we're expected to pay 120 € for a sampler? <<

there's also a 50-page book in the super deluxe edition, and vinyl, which means vinyl-size cover art.
and we're not all "expected" to pay for that - they've offered us other options as well.

Yes we're expected to etc., otherwise they wouldn't sell it. Btw: there are so many differences in product and price. It's takes quite some time to discover the lowest one. It's Not Easy.

Wait until June and the price will be 50% less....old timers know this well after we have spent serious $$$ to see the product go down in price a few weeks after the release. Lesson learned. Buy in June.

Well STONES IN EXILE dvd comes out in June...so I'll assume you are talking about the Exile Deluxe box.

This comes out next week, I'm ordering from Amazon.co.uk for £8.99

If it's 151mins then that's an extra 1.5hrs beyond the 60min tv documentary shown in May! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Same thing I thought...where's the Blu Ray? L&G will be on Blu Ray and also on DVD but this one is only DVD. Wow, that's quite a load of extra's, 90 minutes or so. So would be nice to have additional CSBlues material.

I downloaded the Exile bonus DVD as I thought it would be just a sampler of stuff that would be out eventually and since the vinyl version is crap, off digital masters instead of the original masters I opted for the simple 2Cd version which i am very happy with!

I believe that the one showed on Jimmy is an 'edited' version...the complete version is the 151 minutes, an actual full-length documentary.

In another thread (forgotten which one exactly) those extra 1,5 hours are specified. Mainly extra interviews and sightseeing with Jagger and Watts in LA studios, if I remember well. Didn't sound interesting enough to me.

What you bought with the Exile box is 30'
What you can for free on various TV channels (tonite on French/German channel Arte) is 60'
What'll be available on dvd/BR soon is 151'

Conclusion : the WORST deal was the Exile box! smoking smiley

Where did you download the "Exile bonus DVD" from? I thought this was only available with the super deluxe vinyl edition.

Extended Interviews (ca. 33 min)
Keith Richards
Bill Wyman
Mick Taylor
Anita Pallenberg
Charlie Watts
Ronnie Wood

Return to Stargroves and Olympic Studios (nearly 9 minutes)
Mick and Charlie "sightseeing" historical places
and telling stories

Exile Fans (ca. 40 min)
proms talking about Stones and EOMS

After some quick overviewing: I like this "Stones In Exile"-DVD, it's a nice kind of documentary

maybe it's 151 minutes including interviews etc....

just found out that an extremely small theater here in Milwaukee is
showing Stones In Exile on 6/21...for free. It says it is 65 minutes.
So..I'm not sure if this is the full flic or ?

People, a DVD's running time includes all of the bonus material -- the film by itself minus the bonuses is apparently @ 65".

40mins of fans talking about Exile. Hmmm...
