Feel On Baby
(Mick Jagger / Keith Richards)

The Hit Factory, New York City, New York, US, June - August 1, 1983

Mick Jagger - lead vocals, harmonica
Keith Richards - electric guitar, harmony vocals
Charlie Watts - drums
Ron Wood - electric guitar
Chuck Leavell - keyboards
Robbie Shakespeare - bass
Sly Dunbar - drums, percussion

Feel on baby, feel on baby
Won’t ya feel on baby, feel on baby
Feel on baby, feel on baby, feel on baby

When I travel coast to coast, you're the hook up I miss the most
In the motel you're the ghost, other women don't come close

Feel on baby, feel on baby, feel on
Feel on baby, gotta feel on, feel on baby

From the first time, such a crush, such excitement, such a rush
In the kitchen, in the car, in the ditch, on the dirty floor

Oh, feel on baby, feel on, feel on baby
Feel, feel on baby, feel on baby, feel, feel, oh

Feel, feel, feel, feel on baby, feel on baby, feel on baby, feel on baby
Feel on baby, feel on baby, feel on baby, feel on baby

Wanderlust and love disease, taken over and strangled me
Cure my body, make me whole, feed my body, feed my soul, feel on baby

Got to, got to, feel on baby, got to feel on, got to feel on
Got to feel on, got to feel on, got to feel on

Feel, got to feel on, feel, feel on baby, got to feel on, got to feel on, got to feel on
Feel on baby, break my heart, got to feel on, got to feel on, feel on baby
Feel on baby, baby, baby, got to

Produced by The Glimmer Twins & Chris Kimsey

First released on:
The Rolling Stones - “Undercover” LP
(Rolling Stones Records CUN 1654361) UK, November 7, 1983

I like it, especially the 12" instrumental dub. "Feel On Baby" is also a nice phrase with a typical Keith sound to it. IMO, it would be a good title for a Rolling Stones box set, and maybe an even better one for a Keith Richards solo album.

Rubbish

A fantastic tune. THE best dub/reggae-track the Stones ever made, imo.

Nobody could do listenable songs between 1982 - 1988 for some dangerous reason...I was completely into Classic music that period...

"Feel on Baby" is on of the candidates for the "Worst ever Stones album !!"

used to hate it, but when i rediscovered the album undercover (some month ago, after years of not playing it at all), i just started to love it.
thats the beauty of music and of good songs: one can always discover new things.
i think it's one of their best reggae/dub whatever songs. it's very loose and groovy and the harmonica gives it even a bluesy touch, something you wouldnt expect on a track like this. great song!

I always liked this tune, synth and all. I especially appreciated Mick's vocals at the time. It had been a while since he really sang a tune like that. I love that whole Undercover album and always have.

I don't like most of the Undercover album, but this is a very good song, mostly because of Mick's great vocals.

Great track.
There are a lot of great moments on Undercover. Feel on Baby, Tie You Up, Wanna Hold You, All The Way Down, She Was Hot etc.
But I never liked It Must Be Hell, it's a bad self-parody.
Maybe the sound of this album is a bit too 80's rock, and I don't like that period.
FEEL ON BABY is a classic Rolling Stones track IMO.

we all need to get our feel on once in a while... or, if you're mick, a bit more often.

did you ever wonder why mick says he was "drippin' sweat" in "She Was Hot"?... this is the song they had on the stereo.

never liked it - fake reggae with a faux reggae vocal. one of the early indications of armageddon. not sure, but think it also contributed to the spread of disease and flooding in certain locales...

"Fake reggae" ?
Sly & Robbie might be surprised having been misused without knowing so far...

Best song on the album. And the dub version is one of the few successful ventures the Stones have ever made into that field.

So there.

SR may be faux Chuck Berry (I like it very much though - ouch the lyrics), but RESPECTABLE should have Chuck's credits on it. I mean, it's so good!
