I actually got a pre-order in for $87.99 two days ago. The box set became unavailable yesterday, then came back today at that record price. I wonder if it's selling better than expected and they jacked the price up until they are assured they will be getting enough product to fill the pre-orders.

It sounds like the whole DVD disc of EXILE is a kind of promo release with expert versions for the other releases. For example, DVD will have a 30 minute version of STONES IN EXILE when the television version will be over 60 minutes.

...And what about the Ya Ya's deluxe edidion? Funny that the DVD only show the songs missing on the original LP. I assume there's a lot more film from Madison '69 that we haven't seen! Hoping for a full concert DVD.

Honestly speaking, even though I think that CS BLUES is a masterpiece in its own rights and I love every minute of it, I guess quite many of us will be quite happy with some kind of edited 30 minute version of it... that's enough of that...(and the "highlights" of the decadence are alraedy released in 25x5 document...)

I reckon Mick likes a little harmless controvery - look how bad we used to be. It would be a crying shame if this snippets DVD is as close as the two films get to a release.

i don't like the idea of @#$%& Blues being released officially. first of all, it would be highly edited. do you really think Sir Mick wants footage of him smoking pot and doing coke and horsing around with groupies on planes released to the public? i think not. second, by releasing the movie it would totally lose all of it's legendary status. it's almost a mythological product, even though it's real. if any tom, dick, or harry could go to an HMV or Walmart (though i doubt they would carry it) and purchase the dvd, where's the fun in that? it loses all of it's mystery and cache.

You got Mick all wrong, mate. When the film was shown at the Tate Modern in London in 2004, as part of the Robert Frank exhibition, the print they used for the multiple screenings came from Jagger.

Ages ago on this site it was reported that Robert Frank intended to release CS as part of his archive releases.

That's interesting! Anyway, I think the context needs to be noted... the people who go to see the film at Tate Modern are "art-minded" people as the ones who tend to see it around the globe in different film festivals (where Frank happens to be present). Those peeple are not "shocked" or "bored" or "disappointed" due some obscene scenes... You don't see Tom and Dick and Harry there... Those guys - not to forget the "good people of Alabama (and everywhere)" with their (double) moral standards - are waiting the DVD to be found in their local store...

Ha.. I finally get it... each of those "films" are about 10 minute-a-piece long trailers just as Nikoloi proposed (and by putting them together they have something they call as a "documentary". That's not very much at all... in fact, next to nothing. It looks like that my copy will the 2 CD box with just the 'new' tracks...

There needs to be the real full movies to be released soon - there is no other reason to promote those in this way. Or: "Hey, we used to had a movie like this but... hahaha.. not anymore." Does not make sense to have a 10 minute excerpt of the movie that doesn't really exist (officailly) at all...

Heh, now this bonus-DVD sounds like an updated version of "Exile on Main Street Blues" promo disc - now made of movies instead of songs..

Yes, and Decca London even filed a court injunction against their german sister company TELDEC (Telefunken-Decca) to prevent them from including the single in the box set. That says it all, I think.
