Re: Exile Super Deluxe on German Amazon Tracklisting shows CS Blues and Ladies & Gentlemen!?

It's pretty simple. If STONES IN EXILE is being released as a separate doc(dvd) why bother going for the deluxe box for snippets of stuff I already have? The price on amazon in u.s.a is about $179.00 right now. Sure the vinyl is cool, but I really havent used my turntable in 25 years. I'm pretty sure I will be deleting my order with amazon soon, and just sticking with the 2 disc cd

I'll wait till I know ecsactly what's on it. who knows, a full version of Brown Sugar, Happy and All Down The Line, in perfect quality will (IMO) make it worth the price. I'm not paying for snippets though...

The Exile release is mentioned in the April issue of Vanity Fair and includes a short interview done by Lisa Robinson.

Don“t have my scanner available, so had to shoot it with a stills camera. Lousy quality.

I am getting the new single on April 16th. It is supposed to be ADTL backed with one of the new ones. is this old news? I can't tell with all the Exiles flying around.

Thanks for sharing that, RobberBride. Some good quotes. Interesting if Mick and Keith were actually together for the interview.

Plundered my Soul b/w All Dpwn The Line

The version of 'All down the line' is an alternate take that will not be featured on the Exile deluxe bonus CD

That's what it sounds like based on what Mick said in that Rolling Stone interview/article.

Keith said eleven tracks, just as I was told, now including All Down the Line on the single. I suspect then one of the tracks is a renamed "Scarlet", either with different lyrics ("Plunder My Soul"?) or the final instrumental.

Thanks, Teddy. I hope you're right. I would prefer that to having "Scarlet" languish in the vaults for a possible future deluxe edition of another classic album that might not happen. Can't wait to hear the seven new songs.

Thanks for all your info on this, still would love to know more about those Saber sessions in '02, very intrigued.

It would be nice if they asked Mick Taylor to play, he deserves a highlight, since he never had the career he would have deserved.

Quote
JumpingKentFlash
He did have that career. Only, he threw it away.

Kent, can't you just stick to practising your cheerleading moves for the current line-up or something ?
I never expected you to comprehend the magnitude of Taylor's talent . So forget about "getting" the path taken by the man in his life and career. You are simply not qualified to comment.
+1
Why? I'm as much qualified as you are. Why wouldn't I be. Buttshit comment.

... And by the way: I never ever doubted his talent. I just think that he didn't fit in as much as many people think he did. In the studio yes, but live he often sounded bored to me. All that soloing over whole songs never apealled much to me.

I wholeheartly back you up here, Kent. You are entitled to your opinion and you surely are as qualified as anyone to say anything about Mick Taylor and his significance within the The Stones, or whatever. It is the greatness of this board to have varying opinions and views. I just hope people respect each other's opinions and views, expecially when we are talking about a band that has almost a half century of history behind. You know, just statistically there is some many different views there according to which to judge the band and its doings.

You would think it's as good as any reason to tour. Espicially with all the media they're doing and the publcity they're getting. It would seem like a good time to announce a tour. But for some reason they just don't seem interested in touring anymore.

Any news on the park in New York City or Brooklyn, or somewhere like that, that the Stones were petitioning to conduct an event in this year?
