I always assumed this was just a remake of an older song. I had no idea it was written for this album.
It comes off as a classic IMO. I now have a whole new appreciation for it.

HAHAH...I thought it was an obscure - super rare - Chuck Berry song, - B-side of a single or something like that, - hah..it´s not ? This is the orginal version, - Whoah, I didn't know that. Cool song.
LYRICS:
Buy a bottle get to feeling good
World's lookin' like you think it should
Happy hour, Honey everyone's your friend
Closing time shut her down again
Up in the morning and your facing town
Walk the same streets up and down.
A fire burning in your worn out shoes
Every day you got something to prove.
A curb feelers and fender skirts
Scrub the chrome 'till your elbow hurts
A pinstripes and cherry packs
Grass stains on your second hand slacks.
Keep on bettin' think you gonna win
You can dress it up and try to pretend
a car's a car and that's a fact
A deuce and a quarter aint no cadillac.
Uncle Johnny had a country act
His headache is a heart attack
Honey bring me down a couple more pills
Call the lawyer up and change my will.
Ham sandwich and a glass of tea
Lunch is cheap but never free
Shaking hands and scratching backs
Grease stains on my second hand slacks
Keep on bettin think you're gonna win
You can dress it up and try to pretend
A car's a car and thats a fact
A deuce and a quarter ain't a cadillac.
I got a date
I gotta dress with care
Wash the gray right outta my hair.
I clean the car and when I'm through
I wax it up till it looks brand new.
A curb feelers and a fender skirt
Scrub the chrome 'till your elbows hurt.
Pinstripes and cherry packs
Grass stains on your second hand slacks.
Keep on bettin' think your gonna win
You can dress it up and try to pretend.
A car's a car, and that's a fact
but a Deuce and a quarter aint no cadillac.
A car's a car, and that's a fact
but a Deuce and a quarter aint no cadillac.

I thought the 2nd verse started:
Uncle John the hypochondriac thinks a headache is a heart attack

to be really finetuneish about it, i believe it's "Uncle Johnny Hypochondriac" -
like it's his second name. no "the"
and as for documentaries: there used to be some footage from the All the King's Men session
on Scotty Moore's website - [www.scottymoore.net] - which is well worth rooting around on fo a variety of reasons. have fun!
