Now we need somebody with really good ears to work out what the Stones are actually saying behind the Italian overdubbing...

Wonderful stuff. Many thanks to all involved.

Thanks with sssoul for posting -- I got it -- have mtgs all day but cannot WAIT to get home tonight and watch.

I have a good ear for transcription so I'll look at what Palace has already "caught" re: conversations - and see whether there's any more I can pick up.

UPDATE: jusy watched -- wowza!! I didn't realize the Italian announcers are talking over the Stones, so tried to hear what the Stones were saying behind the translations but my ear isn't that good!

What a DAMN treat!!! thanks again everyone!!!!

It made me really happy---I love this period of the Stones. But also a scoatch bittersweet, especially about Brian, knowing what's going to happen. I am thankful this footage exists. Wonder whether Mick, Keith, Charlie, Bill have seen it? and what they would think? ...remember?

You guys are amazing. Way to network!
That was always a major drag about Italian radio, TV and docu-film: that they insist on Italian voiceovers. I will never forget watching "Woodstock" in Rome and seeing Jimi Hendrix after he destroyed the American National Anthem go up to the mike and say "Grazie". Haha..
But, yes - in that initial thread with His Majesty I kind of told him what the Italian parts were; it's all in the Stones' answers. Don't have the disc here now, but there are other Italians here, no?

You guys caught me by surprise. Coming up with something like this after weeks of rechewing
the old Vegas-tours are (casu quo: not) worth to see/Dirty work is (c.q. not) bad/Ron Wood can
(c.q. not) play guitar, Charlie is (definitely) cool and all kinds of body parts of Keiths.
Someone should have warned me! I must have been the 10.001th in line to download it.
Please, if somebody would be so kind to repost it, I would be very greatful.

the studio footage used in the Ruby Tuesday and LStNT promos is evidently from november 1966 -
any theories what numbers they might be working on in it?
of course they could be trying out stuff that didn't make the final cut, but
Brian on marimbas suggests Yesterday's Papers, and Keith on bass suggests LStNT or She Smiled Sweetly -
any other likely suspects?

Marco - thanks a lot for that. Truly amazing. That's a pint I owe you. Thanks everyone else who's upped it. Probably the most significant 'new' Stones footage since the Milan 1970 super 8mm film.

I think they are working on Yesterdays Papers. Atleast Brian on vibraphone, Jack Nitzsche on harpsichord suggests this. Perhaps Keith played bass during the initial time spent working out the arrangement.

Of course they could be working on something we've never heard heh.

What is so beautiful about this footage is that it shows Brian still very much the good lucking charmer and seemingly still the leader of the band.
If he was playing a subservient role in the Stones in 67 then why would he have got the whole band and film crew back to his place rather than let Mick or Loog Oldham take the lead?

I'm sure many people outside the Stones inner circle at the time would still have seen him as the leader because he really was the focal point, from his dress sense right down to the exotic array of instruments he would play on TV performances.

For that reason alone this footage is priceless and probably the most significant Stones archive find for a long time.

A friend of mine is a professional music film researcher who clears copyright for TV stations and record companies putting together DVD compilations. I'm going to ask him to find out more about this and see if we can get a master copy from somewhere.

It's been noted elsewhere that this film is essentially a snap shot of the band right before the s**t hit the fan via drug busts, the whole Brian - Anita - Keith thing coming to a head, Brian's mental breakdown etc.

Quite bittersweet footage on many levels.
