Although the upcoming Exile release is a pleasant exception, I am becoming increasingly annoyed at the way the Stones are presenting their recorded body of work. I would think that they would want to open the vaults themselves rather than have this done by someone else after they are gone. What are they waiting for? To give you an idea on how this has been done correctly, witness the work Ernst Jorgensen has done presenting the archival material of Elvis presley on his FTD specialty label for BMG Sony. FTD releases are small press internet only CDs that either expand an original Elvis album in 7 inch sleeves with 2 CDs presenting the original album along with alternate takes, unreleased songs etc along with informative booklets. They also release both soundboard concert CDs and sometimes even audience recordings if they are of historical significance. Ernst has also released concept albums that never made it past the drawing board stage. And everything is outstandingly remastered.
Whether you like Elvis or not is immaterial, his archives have been presented SECOND TO NONE! The world's greatest rock and roll band should follow suit.
By the way, there are close to 80 FTD releases since 2000!

There's a good interview by Dean Goodman with Jody Klein in the latest issue of IORR where he states that there's been a pretty good working relationship between the Stones and ABKCO in recent years.
YEAH!!! .... Good interview.. no rmk info but gives one faith for the future release of Stones/Klein material .....
