i love listening to boots but some of the names of them make me cringe or laugh

a lot of them are just plain nasty...

Most of them are probably just to make you cringe or laugh....but a lot of them seem to take a phrase used somewhere on the LP/CD itself like

They are indeed veery stupid. When I loaded mine onto the ipod I changed all the names tos ensible titles like

The Roling Stones - Wembley 11.6.99

Much better than the awful titles most boots have

I think it might have started as a way for fans to know they were bootlegs. Unless of course the LP was a Frank Zappa release and then only God knows.

I had no idea that Susan Boyle was a bootlegger . . . . AND a Nazi.

The lp titles were MUCH better than 95% of the cds.

Because the people who gave them their titles were/are stoned out of their minds.

the cover looks like it's from that 80's british tv show Spitting Image.

as the Ian Hunter song goes, "All of the Good Ones are Taken"...

actually, some bootleg titles are effective. Gathering Madness, for one. The ones taken from stage banter are helpful--also to distinguish different editions of the same show.

others seem like misinterpretations of what the group is about. Whores, Cocaine, etc. to me sounds more like an Aerosmith title than the Stones, who even if those items could all be found backstage still deserve something grander. Beasts of Bourbon sounds like an AC/DC tribute band name--there's only one prominent bourbon drinker in the Stones, afaik.
