LOL

Come on, it's cool to see the evolution of Mick Taylor. During Hyde Park MT was a shy boy with too much hair and shy appearance. In 73 he was master guitarplayer with more confidence and showstyle! :-D

Wasn't having a pop young man, just that I'm not aware that anyone hates MT? No big deal....

I didn't know Tracy Morgan played with MT and Billy Preston!

You know what? Mick T. just doesn't look like a Rolling Stone!

Yep, neither does his playing! BUT that's the whole magic of Mick Taylor... a boy who joined the Stones in '69 and lifted their music to another level. The right time, the right place. And that's why he's my favorite Stone!

He was a lovely player......but he never looked the part that's all I was saying. Nothing deraugatory its probably their best period.

Ok - love his solo on Time Waits For No One, Hide Your Love. I do think he left at the right time though the band need some new life and Ronnie gave them a burst of energy. I am not comparing him as a guitarist Mick T is obviously better.

Also, thank you for that one. Indeed... we shouldn't compare Mick T. with Ronnie here. Different styles, different attitude. Both good players.

DiamondDog7 - Would you admit that Some Girls sounds a little more vibrant that GHS and IORR? I do attribute some of that to Ronnie only if they could have sustained that punch for more than three or four years!

I'm sorry, slew, but I have to disagree...

Some Girls made an important statement in the Stones catalogue. This album was needed to give the Stones that kind of edge to survive the era of Punk and Disco in the late seventies.

BUT for me... Some Girls wasn't that exciting. It rather annoys me here and there. The only songs I loved to listen is Miss You, Beast of Burden and Before They Make Me Run. The other songs are uptempo rubbish to me. Empty, speedy songs and lyrics without any feeling for melody nor passion.
I have to emphasize that it's my opinion. Just to be clear! ;-)

GHS and IORR weren't great gems either, but the songs on those albums sounded diverse and they've got more soul into it. I can relate to those albums. More than Some Girls.
