I've been waiting in line outside the box offices thru thick & thin, come rain come shine. Sometimes in the middle of the winter. So there's no need for you to tell me what to do. I'm perfectly aware of what to do and not! So if you can't put up with my opinion on this matter then you maybe shouldn't be critizise me either.
I'm fully capable to take any critcs about my view on this matter, but I will not surrender to anything like some of you tried to pull on me last night and this early morning. I'm still entitled to my opinion and if you can't see that then it's you who have a problem not me.

My only complaint is the blokes with the White wigs have not even heard the case yet. The media is making too much of it? Hell, members right here have already executed him and buried his lifeless corpse!
It's a sad state of affairs when the legal process is not allowed to take its course. For my USA brethren, think about the Clint Eastwood movie "Hang'em High." He was accused of stealing a horse and killing the owner. A out of control lynch mob hung him with out having all the facts. Turns out they hanged an innocent man! It's looking like Ron is getting a high tech lynching here on IORR.
I'll join in bashing the living daylights out Ron if he's found guilty of a crime but not one second before. What he's accused of in inexcusable but it's not proven fact. I don't think anyone of us are qualified to make that judgement since all the facts are not in front of us.
However, I know I'm pissing in the wind with my argument so I guess I'll just do my best NOT to read this topic anymore.

the above was written with a tone of tiredness, not anything else. It was 4 in the morning, I had not read iorr for days, got caught in the tawdry Ronnie maelstrom reading a zillion posts and articles, and was exhausted. Should have been in bed, not trying to write. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

I do not understand the nervousness. As far as I understood he is not being accused or charged. If there is an incident where the police is called the involved persons have to tell the facts or at least tell their view - nothing else. Just an administration matter. No need to panic.

There are also allegedly other witnesses who called the cops. The waiter or bartender in the curry house says Woody was there prior to Katerina drinking vodka and he ate nothing at dinner. Perhaps they are all telling the truth. Or perhaps they are all lying. Or possibly the newspapers are taking a sensationalistic non-journalistic approach to this story. We don't know.
3. We do know this is the 3rd or 4th reported incident of public yelling screaming histrionics and drunken melodrama between the two of them.
4. We do know Ronnie over the past 10-15 years has been in and out of rehab. He gets sober, he gets well, he flucks up, he starts over again, and barrels toward self-destruction. (There but for the grace of god go I.) He himself has spoken of his drug, alcohol, shopping, and gambling addictions, as well as other behavioral focked-up-ed-nesses.
5. Many of us would agree that the above--(1) the substance/behavioral shit and (2) the tempestuous reckless unstable relationship--don't bode well for any person, over time, as repeating patterns, in terms of their physical or mental health, nor in terms of their reputation. Many rock stars act this way in their 20s. Some grow out of it. Some disappear down the failure rabbit hole. Some get their shit together. Some die or kill themselves.
6. Times have changed. The Rolling Stones broke all the rules before there were rules to break. The "rules" were made after the Stones broke them all. The music industry has clamped down on their investments behaving recklessly and expensively---like being thrown in jail or beating women or marrying children or turning blue in people's bathrooms or otherwise ODing or crashing cars and running away from the police or roadies gang banging passed out underage groupies.
7. It's not just the music industry. A lot of US who, at 20, thought it was cool that Keith was a junkie, probably romanticized the rock n roll lifestyle, have been around long enough to witness directly or simply reflect on what that kind of life really is like (See Also: Cauksocker Blues). Many of us find it take your pick: sad, startling, repellent, horrible, unfortunate, whatever that a talented 62-year-old man could ALSO be so lame, self-destructive, clueless, or unhinged as to endanger themselves and the rest of the Stones by behaving as he appears to be now.
So I'm not saying "Can't we all just get along." But I am saying: whatever the unknowns (and there are many of them), the "knowns" (and there are many of them) indicate a man who does appear to be in jeopardy. Personally, as well as potentially legally, and professionally.

We've got to be careful legally what we say here but even without an allegation from Katia - who apparently didn't want the cops called - Ronnie could still be in trouble.
Claygate High Street has several pubs and restaurants and some other pretty exclusive shops which doubtless have good CCTV systems. There will also have been passing buses fitted with their own cameras and cashpoints the couple may have walked past.
The eyewitnesses claim the incident lasted up to 30 minutes and happened all along the street.
Chances are it's on CCTV and if it's as serious as has been alleged the police may well prosecute even without a statement from Katia.
Under a change in the law a few years ago, the police can now charge without a complaint from a victim of domestic violence.
And if the pictures from security cameras speak for themselves that could be all a magistrate needs to reach a verdict.
Normally these incidents are NFA'd (no further action) after a few weeks but I've a feeling Ronnie may be nervous when he answers bail in January.

Ronnie has issues with booze and clearly his private life is a mess. If he has done what the press are claiming then he will be dealt with through the proper channels.If he has done what is being reported then he will accept his punishment. Cut the guy some slack.
Whatever happened between him and Ekaterina is a private matter between those involved and the authorities and NO-ONE else.

Sorry I thought it both racist and demeaning to women. Any way back to on topic. I find the whole situation absurd. Here we are 14 pages in still chuntering on about Ronnie being a bit of a wife beater. Surely there's something more interesting to talk about now or we all too obsessed about it. In some respects it's quite repugnant to be picking over the bones of someones very public relationship and its eventual breakdown.

There appears to be a lot of sexism towards women here so perhaps some people need to wake up to reality. In a standup fight men will mostly beat a woman depending on size and determination. This however does not mean women, drunk or sober, will not attack a man and do a lot of damage. Generally the man turns away or gets nicked if he hits her back. Dudley Moore had witnesses to his last wife beating him on a regular basis but still got nicked.
When a drunken yob pushed me outside a bar and tried to hit me, so I hit him back and his friend grabbed me as well, his girlfriend then smashed a glass into my face causing it to shatter and then slashed me with the jagged edge..... I didn't hit her back because men who hit poor women are scum arn't they and I couldn't get hold of her. I have often seen violent women attacking men or other women either drink or domestic related. It was funny when 2 cops resucued a 'lady' o/s a bar whose boyfriend had given her a blackeye... as they restrained him on the floor she ran up and kicked a Policeman in the head and she got nicked as well. Do not feck with an angry drunk women gentlemen or you will get hurt!
In Rons case two drunks had a scuffle..... maybe this poor East European 'waitress' in a brothel, cowered in terror as she will be unused to violence or maybe she attacked first. Notice the 'witnesses' who were so cncerned did not go to her assistance until Ron had gone. I do not know what happened but I do not think you should all assume women do not fight and Ronnie was not assaulted as well. Actually from their behaviour they seem well suited.
