Wembley Arena 1973.

Jobsworth(s) was/were getting heavy with a member of the audience.
The Stones stopped playing and Mick told the security to lay off and they walked out.

The Stones carried on and a GREAT time was had by all.
That's when the Stones were the Stones.

BTW, I know some "wit" will be tempted to ask something along the lines of "What are they called now?". Please don't bother.

Evenin' all.

I grew up in a Melbourne suburb of Eltham and in Feb 1973 Stones did a press conference at Monsalvat, an artist/commune/hippie style residence. Living only 3/4 mins walk from Monsalvat i often wandered about freely as the people who lived there got to know myself and my friends, anyway on the said day a friend rang and said " guess what?" i ran like crazy, could not get into back entrance like normal as security guys stopped me, raced around to the front only to see the limousines driving through front gate on the way out ...that and there many Australian shows.

Don't worry with ssoul and no need to/for apologies, always the same misunderstanding due to different native langages.smiling smiley

In French I would write :" Quel magnifique cliché ,le photographe a su capter & capturer en même temps l'expression du visage ET la pose gracieuse du chanteur "
I really can't translate the sentense above .
Helter ,I need some help on that one .

Thanks, schillid! Such interesting pictures! But, please, maybe just a little story? What the time it was and what the weather? How long it continued? Did you look from the beginning or the part of process? What was your impression of them there (if you do remember)? Was that all by the plan or some discussion along the action?
Only if you like to describe all this, of course))

During Sympathy for the Devil in Ottawa, 2005, Keith left the stage for a while. Then Charlie did. (No worries kiddies, they had the looped drumming going so few noticed). Then Keith came back, then Charlie came back, then Keith left again. There was no solo. Is that special enough?

The show after the evening when Mick celebrated his 60th birthday. It was a great feeling to sing Happy birthday to him.

And of course the ABC&D concerts where Charlie singend me an LP and a CD were pretty special for me

Urban Jungle tour at Wembley in June 1990 - I skipped my graduation events to go.

Halfway trhu Midnight Rambler, Keith leans against Mick and puts his hand on Mick's shoulder. Crowd cheers.

Also, may have been the next show, halfway thru Almost Hear You Sigh in a quiet part of the song there's a great noise from the crowd.... I think England had just missed a penalty against Germany in the football World Cup semi-finals. I remember the band looking at each other in reaction the the unexpected noise thinking "WTF is going on??!".

Berlin Kempinski hotel staff put my wife and I on the same floor as Keith and Charlie. Met Charlie with his escort in the hall dressed in suit before the show.

Next morning after show, Lisa Fisher sneaking out of the room next door to ours with high heel shoes in her hand. Found out later it was Keith's room.

In Hawaii for Bridges and found the Stones at the Oriental Grand hotel. Mick was in the salad bar line picking cherry tomatoes as I fell in behind him in line. Didn't say a word, just enjoyed the minute.

Nashville TN found Blondi in the hotel bar, got some great pictures of him and my wife together.

All Priceless>>>>

Perhaps funniest moment. 1981 Philadelphia PA. First show of the tour. The intro to Let It Bleed was a pure cacophony of "something's drastically wrong."
The only time I saw the Stones completely stop a song without just trying to correct whatever was wrong on the fly. A dead stop. Mick said something like, "Woody, Woody, Woody..." A brief inaudible consulatation between Mick Keith and Ron. Ron was close enough to a mic that you could hear him say something along the lines of, "I thought we rehearsed it in G!" The band busted up laughing and so did the very forgiving audience. They started again with everyone in the right key and the show went on. Rather amusing, especially since I was right in front of the stage and could see their facial expressions, laughing, smiling, etc.

Two:

1) Cleveland '78. Everybody was throwing shoes, etc at Mick on the tongue part of the stage. Someone threw an American Flag. Mick paused for a tick, picked it up and then danced around the stage, twirling it like a cheerleader's baton.

2) Dodger Stadium, November 2006. The concert had been postponed from an earlier date due to Mick illness. He more than made up for it by an outstanding performance.

Meeting Bill Wyman after a Rhythm Kings' gig in Dublin; he had a chuckle to himself when I presented a cassette copy of the 'Monkey Grip' album, mused "Did I really look like that?"^

Meeting Mr. Ronnie Wood for a chat and photo outside the Shelbourne Hotel; was on the way home to get changed after work for the Stones fans' get together here the night before the Slane show - if it hadn't rained that afternoon I'd not have got a taxi, and wouldn't have beemn coming up Kildare street when there outside, having a smoke and on the phone, was Ronnie! Jumped out of the taxi, Woody posed for a photo even while on the phone smiling smiley I got to chat with him for a minute or two after that, just myself and himself. Another photo, an autograph on a 5 Euro note^! Brilliant.

I saw him again, said Hi, year or so later, just outside SPAR shop around the corner from Government Buildings

Up the front for the Glasgow and Dublin shows 2003, and of course, Ronnie's Drury Lane show in 2005 - magical!
