Collectors only: Wild Horses - Stripped alternate version ?
Posted by: Gintaine ()

According to Hoffmann there's a different version of the well-known acoustic Stripped version of Wild Horses.
Supposed to be included on the bootleg 2CD 'Ich Möchte Euch Bis Nach Köln Hören' (VGP-216).
But this is not true if you watch the track list.

Anybody got a clue???

Hoffmann:

Track list:

Zentgraf:

Aeppli:

Thanks, SwayStones, I haven't heard it. Dead link.

Anybody care to share an mp3 of this Wild Horses tune from this VGP-216?

Anyway...
...does this mean that the royal Stones connaisseurs Hoffmann & Zentgraf & Aeppli are wrong...I must say...

Dieter, are you listening?

Nico, are you listening?

I thought there were two versions of Wild Horses from the Tokyo sessions : one from the album ENTIRE STRIPPED TV SPECIAL + TOKYO STRIPPED SESSIONS + BONUS TRACKS , the other (with electric guitars ) on the VGP 'ICH MÖCHTE EUCH BIS NACH KÖLN HÖREN' as a bonus track .

May be am I mistaken ?

It's a "bonus track", and therefor not listed on the artwork

Erik_Snow & Rockman,

yeah, but is it a true Stones one or is it a fake?

Sounds fake or maybe Keith dared Mick to pretend he was Brando pretending he was Mick ....

Thanks Rockman & Erik_Snow

Forgive me for repeating myself: does this mean that the royal Stones connaisseurs Hoffmann & Zentgraf & Aeppli are wrong - all three - on the same topic!!!

Nico, how about an update?

Could it be the same bunch who forged the MJ'88 tape issued on a TSP cd?

Just heard the track, thanks ever so much to midnrambler [www.iorr.org]

This is 100% Stones.

Rockman & Erik_Snow, how could you go wrong on this?

There is indeed a reason why Hoffmann & Zentgraf & Aeppli are the royal Stones connaisseurs...

A true gem this track is!

THe megaupload-link is not working at the moment, but we can't possible be speaking about the same "Wild Horses"; as it's definately not Mick singing on the version I once had.

I don't collect BridgesToBabylon-Tour-CDs -in fact I have given away the few ones I had, so I don't have a copy of VGP-216

....I look forward to download once megaupload is working again

It's the bonus track from VGP-216 that I uploaded and this is neither Mick nor the Rolling Stones. Just like "Coming On Strong" on VGP-361...

Finally got to download. That is the same version as the one I heard before.
I'll say: It's NOT Mick Jagger singing.

I'm voting NO. Sorry, wish it was genuine, but it doesn't sound it to me.

Clearly not Mick. The voice is very similar, but it is apparent that the singer tries a bit too hard to imitate Micks phrasings. It just doesnt sound natural. The backing vocals in the chorus finally reveal that its a fake, sounding so definitely "un-stonesy".

not to destroy your illusions, but this is very clearly not mick singing...the phrasing is trying to copy the stones 1:1 and that makes it sound very forced at times. clearly not mick and also the drum and guitar parts don't come natural enough. Not a bad effort and it seems good enough to fool people even on iorr.org
