Cool!

So the '70-'71 Euro tour was also called the "Farewell Tour?" First I've heard of that.

The "farewell tour" was in 1971.

Don't know the exact words but it was called the 'farewell UK' tour because of their self-imposed departure as tax exiles. It wasn't because they planned to give up.

In those days the tours didn´t take a "Christmas break" and continue after several months, going for years even...

It was two different tours:
*the 1970 European tour
*the 1971 UK "Farewell" tour

The '71 UK tour was more than a farewell for tax purposes: they haven't performed a UK tour since! We've sadly just been lumped together with mainland Europe in subsequent years. Actually, it should have been dubbed the 'Goodbye Great Britain Tour'', as the didn't perform in Northern Ireland.

The 1970 tour was their best, IMHO. 1972 was like a spectacle (when again, IMHO, they peaked). They were still hungry in 1970.

Yes it's very rare with photos of Jagger playing guitar in the early 70s.....this photo was for sale on ebay - I just copied it from there - as it seemed....like a wierd photo. It was labeled 1971....but I can't say for sure. Definately from a soundcheck though

This pic is from Baltiska Hallen, Malmö.

If you look at the film taken from this date, you´ll see Mick playing guitar during soundcheck. However the pic you posted is not from that.

Thanks, Vilhelm, I have photos from this soundcheck saved as both Malmö and Copenhagen; but Malmö it IS then - good to know

The Malmö 1970 soundcheck, from TV, posted here one or two weeks ago, also featured Jagger playing the guitar - seems like he did it quite often in 1970-1971 - allthough there's not much evidence/photos of it

I had the pic for years, together with others from Malmö, and if someone want to check, compare the pic with the recently posted film taken from the soundcheck.
I can dig up who took the pics, but I need a day or two, if it´s absolutely necessary smiling smiley

And it seems they´re playing Rambler in the above pic. Keith´s guitar capo'ed on the 7th fret, and Mick playing harp.

Wymans trousers look suspiciously like the ones Jagger wore in 1976.

It´s here on the board, sadly though, the live sound has been overdubbed with studio sound.
