The Stones' concerts in the nineties were so much better than 1981/82

disagree, stones concerts are all about the reckless abandon of the 60s -70s-80s

Always fascinating to watch this and the quality of it as I was at this show 28 years ago (my first Stones show). I remember exactly where my seat was but they rarely show the crowd except in front. The Kingdome had a video screen at the top of the stands in the end zone with the projector suspended from the center of the ceiling (the Kingdome opened in 1976 and was one of the first domed stadiums). The distance from the projector to the screen was a good 75 yards so the image was always a little blurry (it was mainly used to show sports replays at a game) This footage was shot and displayed on the video screen during the enitre show.

I'd love to know the history of this video, I'm glad they recorded the feed to the screen. I never even knew it existed until a year or so ago. How many other stadiums had video systems this early? where would the projector be if it wasn't a dome? Some had large "tv's" of course but this screen was much larger than that. Arenas even had screens over basketball courts early on but they were "tv's" also.

I of course attended the show the night before & I am thinking of suing the Stones because I now suffer from PERMANENT BOREDOM! >grinning smiley<

A bunch of us skipped school to get tickets in downtown Seattle at Fidelity Lane for the 10/14/81 show only to have it sell out before we got tickets. That was depressing to say the least. Fortunately they added the 2nd show on the 15th and we were rewarded with the much better show...in the afternoon even!

The days of actually having to go and get tickets resulted in better crowds at concerts. Nowadays, there seem to be a lot of people at concerts that would sooner be somewhere else, or spend all their time in the "beer garden"
