Ot - Bob Dylan Christmas album preview
Posted by: turd ()
Date: October 2, 2009 13:14

Not sure if this link has been posted already.
The album is out October 14th (Christmas comes early for Bob).
Don't know what to think about this one - proceeds are going to charity, so good luck.
If someone stood outside my door crooning like this, they'd probably get a bucket of water chucked over them.

What is the contents of deluxe edition?

Is "I'll Be Home for Christmas" different from this classic?

I've heard clips from most (if not all) of the Dylan Christmas songs....I've also heard people rolling
over in their graves. In reality, a Jakob Dylan Christmas album would probably sound nice.

I've also heard that he (Bob Dylan) is considering doing the VOICE for GPS systems. Seriously.
It's in negotiations.

IORR............but I like it!

It isnt. He joked about it on his radio show 9 months ago, and when the show was finally broadcast in the UK last month, some arsewit of a newspaper columnist took it at face value and the 'story' then took on a life of its own and got twisted into being a 'fact'.

I wont be buying the xmas album, I wont illegally download it and I wouldn't even take it as a free gift with a packet of breakfast cereal.
I like Bob, but you can have too much of someone.

Outstanding! I cant wait to see the looks on the relatives faces when these songs start popping up on my annual Christmas mix cd's!

Love it or hate it...go buy it. All proceeds to charity. Personally, I love it!

I heard about that, too.

My question is, are there any options? Can you get the voice in a "Nashville Skyline?"

Bob Dylan - like the Stones - has earned his rights to do whatever he wants. We should just be grateful they are out there, still doing it! Keep on keeping on! smileys with beer

So now we're saying its Christmas. Make us buy useless merchandise before its time? And the only time family gets together is by a delegated holiday based on a crazy imposed commercialized religious concept?

Comissioner cries foul

This release scares me - I thought it would be jazzy/bluesy versions of christmas songs - with his own band backing him..... but it sounds like a complete joke, with the sterile music, and the radio-friendly background singers backing him. He's got every right to do as he pleases, of course.... but so do I, and it might please me to never ever buy this album

i'm buying it for the bonus xmas cards alone - and for charity - it's a deductible writeoff...and i don't even know what a writeoff is - but they do and they're the ones writing it off....

Oh yes...the charity - guess it's an excuse to get it for the shelf. Wonder how big of a percentage it is that actually goes to charity - I bet the music companies and distributers take most of it.
But one never know....maybe I'll even learn to appreciate the album, after several spins. One spin every christmas....it'll be a favourite of mine in December 2048

This song list is frightening. What! No "Little Drummer Boy"?
Wouldn't mind the Christmas cards though.

Maybe this is a tribute to Bob's Hibbing childhood?

You havent lived until youve heard Bob's version of 'Must Be Santa'.

And after hearing what hes done to 'Hark The Herald Angels Sing', you may no longer WANT to.
