Hello !

Some days ago a man I know sent me an e-mail with a link from a web photo gallery .He told me I will love that one for sure as he knew how much I am fond of the Rolling Stones.
I didn't understand whether he found it on a music board or on the web or if the photographer is one of his friend .
But I almost felt off my chair when I first saw the photos.
Awesome memories from the Oshawa benefit concert !!!

As I am a good student and I learnt lessons from the past (Cf Mr Barone's thread )
I tried to find out the adress mail of the photographer to ask him his authorization to post them on IORR .
This wasn't an easy search because there were no adress on the link .
I finally made it and got a VERY VERY nice answer from the photographer .
Brian wrote me how glad he was that I enjoyed looking at his photos. I can share the link he said ,with " anyone you feel might like to see them."
He had these photos for many years and never posted them anywhere .

and can you ask whether he took these at the first show or the second one, please and thank you kindly?
(i think i've deduced which show it was that Keith and Ronnie were dressed that way,
but i keep hoping someone who remembers which gig they attended will provide an objective confirmation of my deduction)

I asked him some hours ago in a second mail and wait for his answer.I told him I didn't want to post his pictures without credit or at least his initials on them.
In fact ,I didn't want to give the web photo gallery link because there are personals pictures on it.
So I just add his initials .

as hbwriter noted the New Barbarians opened the show, and were also all on stage for JJF.
from other photos it's clear that Stanley Clarke was also on stage for some other numbers in the Stones set.

Once I showed a shot form this show to David Johansen (Jagger is wearing a "Funky But Chic" shirt) Johansne said in the great Staten Island growl - "Bastard stole my shoit!"

and mick had his beard soon after this, no?

I received this morning another mail from Brian :

"They sold tickets I think they might have been $35.00 for each show if I remember correctly. They were general admission so if you got there real early you could get a good spot. I was there very early. In fact I believe with friends we waited outside the arena overnight. I was right at the front of the stage. No barrier or fence at all between the people and the Stones. In fact I was able to place my camera bag right on the stage. I went to both shows and having tickets to both (they were basically one after the other very short break so we didn’t need to leave they just checked our tickets. As you can imagine it was quite unbelievable. I got the photos developed a day later. Back then it was print film no digital so I made a contact sheet and then prints from there. I still have all my negatives and the film was developed by a lab in Toronto called BGM Film labs.

I doubt besides sentimental value that they are really anything too special but I’m sure people who are huge Stones fans would enjoy them "

I'll ask him .He told me he went to both shows ...I'll have to check out the Stones clothes on the different photos ........
BTW,Brian told me I could give his mail adress if someone wanted to (he's from Canada) and that's why I asked EG yesterday evening to ask yours to LQ as I could write you .
