Hello all,
Believe it or not, I;ve never really listened to Dave Edmunds that much. I am looking for your opinions on 2 fronts.

1) What songs did Keith play with Dave on?

2) What are some of Dave's "rockabilly" type songs?

Thanks for your help

aside from the time keith showed up to jam with Rockpile on Let it Rock at the Bottom Line (10/25/78), i'm not aware of another time he played alongside edmunds. could be wrong, though...

I love Dave Edmunds. Some of my favorite songs.
Crawling From the Wreckage
Almost Saturday Night
Down, Down, Down
I knew the Bride When She Used to Rock & Roll

Probably a bunch of others I can't remember right now.

we've prolly discussed this before here -but yeah, that first love sculpture album rivals the best of the brit bluesrock albums by the likes of fleetwood mac, bluesbreakers, etc....an unheralded classic...fave tune on it is brother ray's "i believe" - dave's guitar break on that is mind-blowing....

'Almost Saturday Night' was a cover of a song on John Fogerty's first solo album, but Dave did a great version of it.

He put out some terrific records around the late 70s/early 80's -includng the song Bruce gave him at Wembley in 1981 'From Small Things Big Things Come' - and was terrific in concert too. He also did a very good cover of Chuck Berry's 'My Mustang Ford' at shows around that time - dont know if he ever released it though.

he did the definitive vsn of chuck's "dear dad" on an early 80's album, too

Ah, I forgot about that one. I'll have to whip out the LP and give it a spin!

'Sabre Dance' was a big hit in UK. The second or third single I ever bought. The first being Lazy Sunday - and the other being Alabatross.

Dave edmunds organised (I think, along with Phil Manzanera (I think!) that Guitar Festival thing in Seville in 1992 - which Keith attended.

Did they not do one song together there - 'Something Else'?

- there are clips of Keith's contributions on Youtube (or were)
