I have been there. surely it was one of the hottest days that year.after 7 hours I reached "Nowhere". Think, more than 100000 were there. Will never forget it:
Yes, I remember too... it was my first Stones show after missing out the 1990 tour. I drove the afternoon before with a friend from Amsterdam to this desolated place :-) And it was a hot day... here's the setlist:
Not Fade Away,Tumbling Dice, You Got Me Rocking,It's All Over Now, Sparks Will Fly, Satisfaction, Beast Of Burden, Angie, Shine a Light, Like a Rolling Stone, Rock And A Hard Place, Monkey Man, I Go Wild, Miss You, Introductions, Honky Tonk Women, Connection, Slipping Away, Sympathy For The Devil, Street Fighting Man, Start Me Up, It's Only Rock'n'Roll, Brown Sugar, Jumping Jack Flash
A day to remember, indeed. We had a rather short few hours' drive by car down to the place where we spent the afternoon bathing and relaxing by the nearby sandpit lake and went down to the venue itself only by early evening so we actually didn't have to wait too long for the Stones but still made our way smoothly to nearby the mixing tower (Keith side) The only downer being those incredibly bullheaded security guards that would not allow any plastic bottle inside so we had to leave all our drink behind at the gate. Excellent gig and party though with an awesome peaceful crowd.
