Bring me champagne when I'm thirsty
Bring me a reefer when I wanna get high
Give me champagne when I'm thirsty
Give me a reefer when I wanna get high
Give me a woman when I get lonely
And set her right down here by my side

Lord, there shouldn't be no the law
When a man wanna smoke a little dope
Hey Mick, Lord, there shouldn't be no law
When a man wanna smoke a little dope
Yeah, you're the jammin' baby
But it's tied on, don't you know

Every time I get high, yeah, I laid my head down on my baby's breast, yeah
Every time I get high I wanna laid down on my baby's breast
Well, you know she hugs and kisses me baby, she says Buddy Guy you are the best
I wanna get high this morning, people as sure is my name, how about that
I wanna get high this morning, Mick, just as sure is my name
You can bet my bottom dollar, Keith, I ain't gonna use no cocaine
Give me champagne when I'm thirsty
Give me reefer when I wanna get high
Give me champagne when I'm thirsty
Give me reefer when wanna get high
Give me a woman when I get lonely
Lay down by my baby's side
Yeah, give me a woman when I get lonely
Lay down by my baby's side

Fully agree
The highlight of the show is that great moment!
There's two higlights in one, first the way they played the song,
and second, when Keith gave his guitar!
It rocks!!!

I think you can consider yourself young while you still can learn something from somebody else.
In this performance, Keith looked fascinated by the old bluesman; acting ( and playing ) like a disciple having still a lot to learn from his master. Overall, Keith appeared very young to me, focused and full of energy. One of the greatest moments of rock and roll smiling smiley

I agree with all above.

"looked fascinated by the old bluesman...."
Buddy Guy was born in 1936 He is seven years older than Keith.
Does this now officially make Keith "an old bluesman"?

The answer is no.
Maybe because of those seven years difference ?

absolutely.

the highlight of the film but not because of anything to do with keith..

No because Keif isn't a bluesman...he is a rocker who likes the blues.

Only 5 mn on Stage to stole the show!
I think Mick was surprised and shattered with this incredible singing and playing
of the Mother]#[\
Buddy looks like the wolf in front of the third house of the three little pigs!
Blowing all the (Rolling) Stones out of the (the beacon Theatre) House!
Each time i see that great moment , each time i think the STONES were under.
Remember Atlantic City in 1989, when Mick played keys on harp to see if CLAPTON
could follow him with the same keys on guitar.
At this game, this time, it's Buddy who won.

I too am wondering where to start listening to Buddy Guy. I'll try that record listed above. Also, I heard there is a great live album with some type of colorful artwork on the cover. Does anyone have any information on this? If it's as good or better than his Shine A Light performance I'm going to love it for sure.

Picked up Bring 'Em In the other day, his 2005 album. Absolutely loved it on first listen.

Will have a look around for that one, thanks.

This song is a total mess. Buddy goes off on 11 while Keith does the same thing over and over...Ronnie is just on stage...Buddy doesn't know what timing is...Mick sounds constipated...Charlie, I think, actually does a pretty good job.

But it has the most energy of anything in the movie and on the album. So in that aspect, yes, it's out standing. Performance wise it's one of the worst things I've ever heard by The Rolling Stones...

Well, my two musical idols, the Stones and Buddy Guy, joined forces here, with somewhat mixed results, I've gotta admit. It's great to see them up on stage together, and Buddy definitely is the star of the show, but as Skipstone says, it's also quite messy. I wonder how much (or little) this was rehearsed.

As I've mentioned on other threads, I consider Buddy to be the greatest blues guitarist, living or dead. If you're looking for an album that will burn your house down, get "Stone Crazy" and then move on to "Damn Right..." and "Bring 'Em In".

Agreed, musically it's enerywhere but where it should be...but 10 out of 10 for just getting them all on the same stage and for the sentiments of the song

It's outstanding. It's the blues for God' sake, who wants perfection? It's loud, earthy and it has more soul to it than any of those blues perfectionists like Robert Cray could ever hope to offer.

Couldn't agree more - that is what makes the blues what they are. confused smiley

Buddy Guy's unbelievable here, so what if he has no "timing" or something, his licks are amazing, Mick's vocals are great as well, THE highlight of the movie for me. It might sound a bit sloppy, but it's part of its charm as well.

That my friend is what some like to call 13 bar blues, all over the place yet incredible. One of my all time favorites. Mr. Guy has always smoked in concert and this is no exception.
