'SHE's A RAINBOW' - LIVE????

Just wondering, was the only time this track played live during the '97/'98 tours? And the only soundboard was to my knowledge a mono quality from South America.

The San Diego show from that tour was broadcast live on american radio at the time. So their is a good quality boot from that show and a very nice version of "Rainbow".

Yes that's correct. Only sbd is from Buenos Aires (CDs "Bridges To Argentina" ).

That live version ablett posted sounds very unrehearsed, too fast and sloppy. They could do better if they rehearsed that song more often.

There is an audience version from one of the two Hawaii shows on VGP

a very good audience source circulates from one of the opening chicago shows...the handful of performances of this little chestnut showed promise...a shame it was never given a real chance to gel....woody invigorates the tune with some deft laptop slide work....

On the recording posted here Mick and Charlie sound properly, but the guitar is not so good!

I heard this gem only once on this tour, I'll have to check to see which gig, but I was thrilled with the LIVE version! I'll check and get back.

I've got the recording "Second Year in Babylon", which contains a live version of SAR. And the booklet says it's from Soldier Field, Chicago 1997.

and that one's on the fine collection of "rarities" that were played on the tour - entitled, "you get the best of me..." a nice 2cd set that contains mostly decent recordings of alot of the so-called "internet picks" and other not-often played gems.

Nice that they did try to do it live, finally, but it didn't turn out as successful as 2000 Light Years, in 89/90....that was a really good one - save for the silly Matt Clifford intro

Ok,that's the one I have. The person who sent it to me didn't give me a lot of details. But I know Mick mentioned SD at one point.

I like it, it is a nice attempt, but does not really take off, however it is saved by Mick, Charlie and Chuck. It sounds a bit insecure, underrehearsed. Insofar it shares this fate with a lot of stuff they only play every now and then. If it could be given a more steady place in the setlist (next tour? it is popular enough since the recent use in commercials!), it will grow, I'm sure.
